Beyond The Iron Swords War – Netanyahu’s War of Political Survival

THE IRON SWORDS WAR NETANYAHU’S WAR OF POLITICAL SURVIVAL

The war going on in Gaza is no longer the Iron Swords War. It has long deviated from the war that began with the worst attack on the State of Israel in our history and the worst massacre of the Jewish People since the Holocaust. The Iron Swords War was a justified war to repel a barbaric terrorist organization that became an army during the Netanyahu years, a war to destroy the Hamas threat on Israel especially the Western Negev which had long been abandoned through the Netanyahu years, a war to bring back our hostages who were abandoned by the army and the government and 58 who are still abandoned by this government. But this war has long been over and what should have happened to truly make it so was for a political settlement and agreements to make the necessary changes in Gaza that needed to be made and for all the hostages to be brought home. A war doesn’t end just with the cessation of hostilities. A war must end with political and diplomatic agreements. Otherwise, it is just part 1 of an ongoing war.

Unfortunately, the only political and diplomatic goals of the war have been set by one man, our Prime Minister and his goals are entirely centered on him, his political survival and his legacy. This part of the war should be renamed “Netanyahu’s War of Political Survival” or as I saw on a hostage ribbon in Tel Aviv “Netanyahu’s Holocaust”. This is not only based on my opinion. It is a known and acknowledged fact by everyone on the Hostage Negotiation Teams, all of the senior and junior Security Forces Officers (IDF, Shin Bet, Mossad), our western allies (the few we have left) and now even by Netanyahu’s BFF, Trump and his emissaries (who have known this for a long time but have diplomatically steered clear of saying so).

A few days ago, Netanyahu had his first press conference in 6 months, quite unbelievable that during a war, he has made sure not to make himself politically vulnerable with press conferences and open questions. At his press conference, he made sure that the first questions were pre-arranged and politically to his advantage. But then came the questions he doesn’t want to get and he did what he does best: he diverted to what he wanted to talk about and totally and purposely ignored the hard-hitting questions.

And then for him, the most important aspect of this press conference was to continue his ongoing and never-ending effort to rewrite history and cover up his total failures as Prime Minister and shirk all responsibility. Netanyahu has the gall to state that we were attacked by people wearing flip flops and not by an army of well-trained and well armed terrorists stocked with of weapons that any fighting force would be happy to have, and then to ignore the deaths of so many killed, tortured, raped and kidnapped on October 7 and minimalize what actually happened. He makes fun of the actual actions by turning it into a cartoon like event, saying that the terrorists came in flip flops.

On October 8, Netanyahu’s most important meeting was with his political and PR advisors discussing how to save his political ass and legacy. It wasn’t a meeting to deal with the massacre of the previous day, or the fact that the army and the government abandoned everyone and failed in their most basic jobs, to provide security to the citizens. It wasn’t to discuss how to get the government running and functioning in this new reality and to take care of everything that must be done. It wasn’t to work with the security heads to regroup and get the security forces back up and running to route all of the terrorists who were still holding the western Negev communities and it certainly wasn’t to deal with getting back the 251 people who were kidnapped the previous day.

So, his press conference the other day was the continuation of that same October 8 meeting to rewrite history, change the narrative, minimalize everything that brought about the massacre of 1200 people and destruction of entire communities, place all blame on the security forces and take credit for anything that Netanyahu deems is positive press for him. He talks proudly about bringing home 196 of the 251 hostages, but doesn’t say a word about the fact that they were all taken hostage on his watch and under his responsibility.

And god forbid that a hostage doesn’t thank him and Sarah for getting them released. When that happens, the Netanyahu family poison machine goes into full action and attacks the returned hostages, their families and any supporters of the hostages.

But here is news to the Netanyahu family and their poison machine. We ARE the majority, we want the hostages home, we want the war to end, we want elections and we want an Independent Official State Commission of Inquiry. And we are going to get all of these things because we are the majority and you are a self-interested petty politician whose has given up any concern for the well-being of the State and its people and only act on what is good for yourself. Enjoy your position as long as it lasts because you will be placed in the darkest corner of our history very soon as well as all your enablers and cronies. And if there is truly justice in the world, we will see you behind lock and key for a very long time, both for the crimes you are currently on trial for and for the crimes you committed in your name against the people, against the hostages and their families and for your total mismanagement of the war and the State. In all honesty, I would be equally content if you take all of your ill-gotten gains, go buy a deserted island somewhere far away from here, take your poisonous family, and we never hear and see any of you again.

      Role in the October 7 Massacre   

Netanyahu’s years’ long security negligence and diversion of military resources to protect West Bank settlements—while ignoring repeated warnings about Hamas’ planned attack—led to the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
