Bibi’s Legacy: From Startups to Struggles

The Witch Hunt Against Netanyahu: A Betrayal of Israel in Its Time of Need
Since Benjamin Netanyahu returned to office in December 2023, the scale and ferocity of the political witch hunt against him has reached unprecedented levels. Barely a week into his new term — as he announced long-overdue judicial reforms aimed at restoring balance between Israel’s elected representatives and unelected judges, the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem ignited in protests. These weren’t demonstrations for democracy, as they were branded. They were protests against democracy and against the outcome of an election, against the will of the people, and ultimately, against Netanyahu himself.
Every Saturday night, Rabin Square transformed into a sea of flags and not only Israeli ones, but shockingly, Palestinian ones, even in the immediate aftermath of deadly terror attacks. The symbolism could not have been more clear. It wasn’t about judicial reform. It was about delegitimizing Israel’s elected government and no one was happier to see it than Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian regime.
Hamas Watched With Joy — and Then Struck
As Israel tore itself apart from within, the enemies at the gate saw their opportunity. Intelligence reports and Arabic-language media have since documented Hamas leaders expressing open joy at the internal chaos. Israel’s enemies believed , correctly , that a divided Israel is a vulnerable Israel. And on October 7, 2023, they pounced, unleashing the most savage massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Civilians were slaughtered, families destroyed, and the country was shaken to its core.
But did the protest movement pause? Reflect? Reassess? No. They doubled down, blaming Netanyahu, no, not Hamas, for the breach at the Gaza border. Most of them even went as far as to claim he should negotiate with the very terrorists who orchestrated the massacre. The obsession with Netanyahu blinds them to the real threat. This isn’t opposition, it’s sabotage.
A Legacy of Strength and Progress
The irony is cruel: the man they vilify has done more to secure Israel’s economic, technological, and diplomatic future than any leader in modern Israeli history. Let’s remind ourselves:
Economic Visionary
-
Market Liberalization: Netanyahu championed free-market reforms, cutting bureaucracy and encouraging private sector growth.
-
Tax Reductions: He slashed income and corporate tax rates, unleashing entrepreneurship.
-
Privatization: From banks to El Al, he moved Israel away from inefficient state ownership.
-
Economic Growth: Under his leadership, Israel’s GDP boomed, and Tel Aviv became a global innovation hub.
Tech and Cybersecurity Powerhouse
-
He nurtured the Startup Nation, making Israel the second most innovative tech ecosystem after Silicon Valley.
-
He made Israel a global cyber power, attracting billions in foreign investment and strategic partnerships.
Diplomatic Mastery
-
The Abraham Accords , a seismic shift in the region , were his doing. UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco: peace with four Arab states without conceding an inch of land.
-
He cultivated ties with the U.S., India, China, and even Russia, diversifying Israel’s alliances in a volatile world.
Uncompromising on Security
-
Oversaw Operation Protective Edge and Guardian of the Walls to contain Hamas and Hezbollah threats.
-
Championed and implemented the Iron Dome, saving countless lives from rocket fire.
-
Took the fight to Iran diplomatically, urging the world to wake up to the nuclear threat.
Infrastructure and Energy
-
Led major transport overhauls, modernizing roads and railways.
-
Transformed Israel into a natural gas exporter, strengthening energy security.
Who Can Replace Him?
This is the uncomfortable truth his detractors can’t answer: Who else has the vision, experience, and international stature to lead Israel right now? The left, bitter from losing the election, offers no unifying leader, no viable alternative. Just slogans and smears.
Criticizing leaders is a cornerstone of democracy. But demonizing a democratically elected Prime Minister during wartime , when the country faces existential threats , is not just unpatriotic. It is a betrayal.
Unity Now, Judgment Later
To Israelis and supporters of Israel worldwide: Now is the time to show unity, not division. Now is the time to stand with the leader elected by the majority, not undermine him for ideological vengeance. After the war, there will be time for debate, for inquiry, for politics.
But for now, Netanyahu isn’t just the Prime Minister. He’s the captain of a ship under siege.
Let him lead.
