Boycott the Boycotters

Israel did the absolutely right thing in barring Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from their controversial trip to what they would deem as Palestine.

Omar and Tlaib’s trip was not only anti-Israel, but pro-terrorist.

Repeatedly, Omar and Tlaib, part of “The Squad” of progressive agitators and anti-Semites that have made their way into the distinguished Congress of this great nation, have been verbally anti-Semitic and overtly incited against U.S. friend and ally, Israel through slurs and actions such as:

  • Claiming Jewish undue influence in Congress
  • Disparaging the Jewish people as having Dual loyalty
  • Relabeling a map of Israel as Palestine, and
  • Promoting a bill for Boycotts, Divestments, and Sanctions targeting Israel.

It is time that we stop bending over backwards for Israel’s enemies, which Omar and Tlaib certainly are. As President Trump tweeted on Thursday, Omar and Tlaib “hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds.”

While every nation’s politics is open to criticism–and G-d only knows that Israel gets way more than its fair share, especially at the UNjust United Nations, which has more resolutions against Israel than all other nations of the world combined–Omar and Tlaib have gone way beyond criticism to active hostility to the Jewish State and people.

Even in planning their trip to Israel, Omar and Tlaib were excluding visiting Israeli sites and meeting with their officials. It was to be a wholly one-sided excursion for the sole purpose of promoting hatred of Israel and “economic warfare designed to delegitimize and ultimately destroy the Jewish State,” as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, has stated.

Certainly, if someone comes to boycott you, boycott them first. This is what Israel did, and rightfully so: The boycotters should be boycotted! It is only common sense that Israel should not give a platform to and help the anti-Semites who actively seek to harm them. And this is precisely what the Israel law to deny entry to supporters of BDS is for. Make no mistake, no other sane country would permit entry to those who seek to hurt them.

For those that question Israel’s legitimacy as a democracy in barring these haters and subversives (perhaps yet another form of anti-Semitism as others do in even questioning Israel’s legitimate right to exist),  it is actually the opposite–this is the right and exercise of every democracy to have its elected representatives protect its people.

Unfortunately, many Jews still have the “Diaspora mentality” and fear of the next Jewish massacre or Holocaust, and so they are afraid of upsetting the Jew-haters. However, by Hashem’s mercy and the fulfillment of his promise, there is now a State of Israel that can fight back and must defend its people.

Israel is and will remain a light unto the nations in doing the right things and in the right way (even allowing Tlaib entry to visit her 90-year old grandmother on humanitarian grounds), and at the same time, they will not have their lights turned out on them by haters and aggressors who openly promote the destruction of Israel and turning it into an imaginary Palestine.

We are no longer “like sheep to the slaughter.” Thank G-d, those days are over! We must have faith in G-d; Israel must fight those that seek to harm them whether from military to economic warfare and more.
