Why Are We Still Calling It the “West Bank”? Seriously? Can Someone Explain?

Judea and Samaria. That’s the name. Historically. Biblically. Geographically. The Romans erased it in an act of cultural genocide in 135 CE, renaming it “Palestine” to cut out the heart of Jewish identity.

Fast-forward. Israel is reborn in 1948. Judea and Samaria are liberated in 1967 from Jordanian occupation. And yet, somehow, we’re still using a term coined by an occupying force?

Yes, the world is often ignorant, we get it. Western academics, journalists, and UN diplomats barely know the difference between the Dead Sea and a dead hashtag. But here’s the real outrage:

Israeli newspapers still call it the “West Bank.”!!

Not ignorant tourists. Not biased foreign NGOs. Israelis. Editors who live in Jerusalem. Journalists whose grandparents survived pogroms for being from Judea, now calling it “West Bank” like good little colonial foot soldiers.

Let’s Talk “Settler” …What a Twisted Word Game

In the world of modern propaganda, language is everything. And calling a Jew a “settler” in Judea is one of the most manipulative linguistic weapons ever created.

• Jews are indigenous to Judea. The clue is in the name.

• Jews aren’t foreigners arriving to colonize,  they’re returning home.

• And yet… we let the term “settler” stick?

When Israeli newspapers describe Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as “settlements,” they are not just being inaccurate. They are doing the enemy’s work.

Let me make it clearer:

You’re not reporting the news. You’re repeating the narrative of people who openly call for your destruction.

Would we call Jews in Tel Aviv “occupiers” because it once had an Arab village? No? Then why is a Jew in Hebron, where Abraham and King David walked, suddenly a “settler”?

And again, yes, we expect CNN or Al Jazeera to twist words. That’s their job.
But when Israeli media outlets do it? When Hebrew-language news regurgitates the same poison? That’s not journalism. That’s national amnesia.

“Palestinian”? You Mean Yasser Arafat’s PR Trick?

Let’s stop romanticizing this term.

The modern identity of “Palestinians” wasn’t formed by ancient culture. It wasn’t a native claim. It wasn’t some biblical tribe. It was a 1960s Soviet-style invention crafted by one of the most prolific Jew-killers of the 20th century:

Yasser Arafat : Egyptian-born, KGB-funded, terrorist-in-chief.

• He masterminded the Munich Olympic massacre (11 murdered Israeli athletes).

• He oversaw decades of suicide bombings, plane hijackings, and child-targeted terror.

• He built an empire of death and deception.

And this man is the founding father of the term “Palestinian”?
And you, dear Israeli media, still use that term uncritically?

You are validating a bloodstained propaganda strategy. You are giving honor to the legacy of a man who murdered your fellow citizens.

Do you also quote Bin Laden on regional diplomacy? Do you name neighborhoods after Hitler’s dog? No? Then why treat Arafat’s political invention as a sacred identity?

Israeli Media: You Should Know Better

We know the world is ignorant. We know the BBC doesn’t care about Jewish history. We know Ivy League professors get their facts from YouTube.

But Israeli journalists? Israeli editors? Israeli educators?

You are not tourists.
You are not neutral observers.
You live in the land your people bled for.

So why do you sound like the foreign ministries of Iran and Qatar?

Why do your headlines use the vocabulary of Hamas, the PLO, the Islamic Jihad?
Why do your articles echo the talking points of BDS activists who chant “From the River to the Sea”, while meaning your extinction?

You were born into the miracle your grandparents only dreamed of. And now, you casually give your enemies the narrative, the language, the power to define your own existence.

That’s not objectivity. That’s betrayal.

Can you explain? I don’t understand.

Final Question: Do You Love Your Enemies So Much?

You brought your language back from extinction. You revived the land, rebuilt cities, made deserts bloom, fought off enemies on all sides and won.

And yet, with every headline, you let your enemies write your story.

So I’ll ask again, loud and clear:

• Why are you still calling it the West Bank?

• Why are you calling Jews in Judea “settlers”?

• Why are you calling Egyptian-imported Arabs “Palestinians,” using the terminology of a mass-murdering terrorist?

Can someone explain?
Because I don’t understand.
And frankly, you shouldn’t either.
