Cliffhangers
Iran and Hezbollah threatened to attack. Israel and U.S. warned them.
Hamas is on the verge of being eliminated. There is pressure from Egypt, Qatar and the U.S. to finalize a deal. Smotrich and Ben Gvir oppose it.
Biden dropped out. Harris and Trump are tied in the polls.
The stock market fell. It started climbing back.
The UK had riots. The government and police and courts clamped down.
Russia gave Iran anti-aircraft missiles. Ukraine invaded Russian territory. (Putin took action to undermine Israel’s security, and immediately afterwards Russian security is undermined. It doesn’t pay to go against G-d’s chosen nation.)
How can one deal with cliffhangers? By trusting in G-d. And by being steadfast in our determination to do what G-d wants, and to defend Israel no matter what the world says. Indeed, Israel is now doing exactly that. They are eliminating Hamas, and this will make the world safer.
King David was constantly dealing with cliffhangers. His words of Psalms are full of supplication and trust that G-d will save him.
Because when we trust that G-d will help, and that it will be good, then we can feel calm, peaceful, and jubilant.
So that even as cliffhangers coast by, storms brew, and rivers threaten to flood, one’s inner composure is steadfast.
Trust keeps us steady. Trust that G-d will save us now, and will redeem us with Moshiach very soon. A time when joy will permeate, and peace will prevail throughout the world.
May we see it very soon.
