Dan Bilzerian, the Jew-Hating Conspiracy Tycoon

In the face of the unimaginable horror perpetrated against Israel on October 7, 2023, when innocent life was brutally cut short, one would have hoped that voices would unite in somber solidarity against terror and hate. But no, Dan Bilzerian, a man who has been faking for years to be a rough-around-the-edges “unfiltered” influencer and poker player, has seen fit to unleash a torrent of antisemitic abuse at this darkest of times. His statements, filled with conspiracy theories and sheer historical revisionism, are not only factually empty but a disgusting assault on the very existence and dignity of the Jews.

Dan Bilzerian’s extensive record of incendiary statements is well-established. He has consistently relied on disproven, outmoded stereotypes of “Jewish supremacy” and fact-free assertions that seek to blame Jews for nearly every contemporary disaster. Whether it’s claiming that Jews have “put themselves in a victim category” even as they control government, banking, and the media or carelessly stating, “Fuck Israel” and attributing the ills of the day to Jewish influence, Bilzerian’s words always cross the threshold from repugnant opinion to hate speech.

Most objectionable, maybe, is his cavalier denial of the Holocaust. On network television, he once boasted that he would “bet his whole net worth” that fewer than six million Jews were killed in one of the greatest atrocities in history, a statement which is not merely a grotesque perversion of historical fact, but also an insensitive denial of the suffering of millions.

In a series of interviews, including on shows he’s appeared on that have been hosted by Piers Morgan and Patrick Bet-David, he blamed Israel for everything from the killing of John F. Kennedy to the conspiratorial fall of foreign dictators such as Muammar Gaddafi. With cynical disdain, he has gone so far as to try to redefine Hamas as merely a “resistance organization” and hailed its former leader, Yahya Sinwar, as a “hero.”

Bilzerian’s unchecked hate speech is a disconcerting reminder that bigotry doesn’t die; it just gets new platforms and new audiences.
The timing of his statements is a cynical manipulation of tragedy. To utilize such a moment to spread baseless conspiracy theories and to slander the same individuals who have borne the worst of terror is not only immoral, it is an affront to every ideal that supports human dignity and the rule of law.

Dan Bilzerian’s social media influence is remarkable. With 31 million followers on Instagram, his words have influence far beyond his community of decadence. In an era when social media can propagate hate speech within minutes, his irresponsible utterances have the potential to incite others to follow in his footsteps of extremism. There is deep irony in his self-appointed role as a “masculinity influencer” and truth-teller, a role that is compromised by his embracing of poisonous lies and conspiracy theories.

The truth is that his online influence needs to be equaled by a corresponding accountability, which he has conclusively neglected to maintain. By stooping to a torrent of antisemitic rhetoric and historical misrepresentations, Bilzerian not only discredits himself but lends unwarranted gravitas to a reprehensible ideology that has no business in contemporary discourse.

It is the duty of all who passionately believe in truth, decency, and the ultimate vitality of Israel to firmly disavow the bilious rhetoric disseminated by the likes of Dan Bilzerian. His are not the ravings of a madman provocateur; they are calculated attacks meant to belittle, polarize, and destabilize the very foundations of a society that acts as a bulwark against tyranny and oppression.

At this point, the imperative of level-headed judgment and unbending opposition to hate has never been more necessary. The facts have never altered, and no degree of revisionist rhetoric or perverted logic can change reality.

In the interest of truth and for the benefit of all who value freedom and justice, we must denounce hate wherever it appears. Dan Bilzerian’s statement is a foul reminder that antisemitism is still very much alive, and we cannot let ideologies like this find their way into our collective psyche.

About the Author
Michael Kuenne works as a journalist on antisemitism, extremism, and rising threats to Jewish life. His reporting continually sheds light on the dangers that come from within radical ideologies and institutional complicity, and where Western democracies have failed in confronting the new rise of Jew-hatred with the due urgency it does call for. With hard-hitting commentary and muckraking reporting, Kuenne exposed how the antisemitic narratives shape policymaking, dictate public discourse, and fuel hate toward Israel. His writings have appeared in a number of international media outlets, including The Times of Israel Blogs. Kuenne has become a voice heard for blunt advocacy in regard to Israel's right to self-defense, critiquing ill-conceived humanitarian policies serving only to empower terror, while demanding a moral clarity which seems beyond most Western leaders. With a deep commitment to historical truth, he has covered the resurgence of Holocaust distortion in political rhetoric, the dangerous normalization of antisemitic conspiracies in mainstream culture, and false equivalencies drawn between Israel's actions and the crimes of its enemies. His reporting dismantles sanitized language that whitens the record of extremism and insists on calling out antisemitism-whether from the far right, the far left, or Islamist movements, without fear or hesitation.
