Dangerous power of denial

Israel’s enemies deny its right to exist. That includes the so-called activists who deny Hamas’ atrocities. I’m skeptical if anything can reach these people who are convinced Israel is in the wrong. Only by God humbling them or, more broadly, Israel’s enemies, in a Road to Damascus scenario, by making them experience the error of their ways, can there be a glimmer of hope. God works in mysterious ways, and He will, no doubt, find a way to reach all those who are blinded by anti-Semitism. It’s a long process, however, and there’s no clear timeline. One could even venture to say the ”cultural conversion” process, as I call it, might extend beyond this lifetime.

Let’s look at denial in the context of an eerie exchange of views I had with a Chinese psychic. I offended her by calling her fake, essentially mocking her. I had mentioned it earlier on my blog.

She said that I’d end up in hell, and get turned into a Jewish girl dancing cha-cha-cha and forced to speak Hebrew. I laughed it off, of course, and it was classic denial, because it was something so absurdly random to hear. By hell, by the way, she meant some alternate reality. Another dimension. Hell was more about the punishment of the enforced cultural conversion. Any kind of such cultural change is accompanied by denial. It’s a classic defense mechanism.

So, I end up in ”Hebrew hell,” let’s call it. Denial kicks in. Resisting, kicking and screaming, against being forced to sit in the back of the temple. Rebelling against the idea of my prayer being taken less seriously, if seriously at all, by God. But, eventually, denial won’t withstand the social pressure of the cultural conversion, and Hebrew is going to become my main language, with all the cultural changes, such as showing much more gratitude. Denial can be powerful, but in light of a total reality change, the denial defense is going to collapse, eventually, and the reluctant acceptance of a new reality and a new role is going to set in, no matter how unpleasant the process of ”cultural conversion” is along the way.

That, not the same scenario but the underlying idea, is what needs to happen to Israel’s enemies and deluded activists for them to see the light.
