Dear American sister

Dear American Sister;

My heart breaks as I see America burning from riots and looting.  For I too once lived in America before coming on Aliya.  My heart breaks as I see the crashing down of the American dream.  As I see the national pain and chaos.  And so, I reach out to you.  I reach out to you along with a group of five other women who have made aliya.  We reach out to you in love.

We remember how many times it was you who reached out to us as the missiles were falling, as the wars continued, as the terrorists attacked once again.  You reached out to us when the three boys were missing.  You reached out to us through it all.  You reached out to comfort and show us that we are not alone.

And now, American Sisters, we reach out to you.  We invite you to consider coming home to Israel.  Yes, we have our problems here in Israel.  Yes, there is much to correct.  Yes, we still are threatened by wars and terrorist attacks.  And yet, we are home.

We know that this is truly the safe haven for Jews from all over the world.  We invite you to perhaps see that the time has come to pack up your bags, to begin the bureaucratic procedures, and to come on home to Israel.  Because in the end, there is no safer place for Jews.

Will it be easy?  Certainly not.  Aliya means leaving behind family and friends.  Aliya means leaving behind your roots and connections.  Aliya is never easy.  To make it here in Israel you must truly believe that in the end this is the homeland for every Jew.

But as America riots and breaks.  We six “Israeli” sisters invite you to come home.  We will be here waiting for you with all of our hearts and abilities to help.  We will meet you at the airport with huge banners saying:  “Welcome Home Dear American Sisters!  Welcome Home Dear Friends! “.
