Explosion of hatred against Jews in the United Kingdom

The United Kingdom, once considered a refuge for Jews during the Holocaust, now faces a growing wave of antisemitism that worries religious communities and international leaders.

Recent reports show Jews being assaulted in the streets, homes vandalized with swastikas, young people threatened at universities, and Jewish businesses surrounded by hostile crowds. In addition, billboards with antisemitic messages and boycott campaigns against Jewish-origin products have spread across the country.

The American evangelical program The 700 Club, from the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), highlighted in a report that British Jews are being forced to gather in secret or under heavy security, and even prohibited from attending football matches.

The situation recalls historical episodes of Nazi Germany, such as the pogroms and Kristallnacht, which preceded the Holocaust. The current scenario is seen as a harbinger of new conflicts and global tensions.

This moment calls for reflection, solidarity, and prayer. For many evangelicals, today’s events are also viewed through a biblical lens: a process of “regathering” Jews to their land, as part of a spiritual and national restoration.

The advance of antisemitism in France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom reinforces the seriousness of the crisis. Jewish communities report constant fear and concern for the future, in an environment that no longer offers the security of past decades.
