Time to Stand Up for Israel: Exposing the Lies and Defending the Truth

In an era where misinformation spreads faster than facts, it is our duty to stand up for Israel and challenge the relentless falsehoods being pushed by those who seek to undermine the Jewish state’s legitimacy. The war that began on October 7, 2023, was not initiated by Israel, as some falsely claim—it was Hamas, a terrorist organization, that launched a brutal and unprovoked attack, slaughtering Israeli civilians in cold blood. Yet, despite clear evidence, anti-Israel propaganda continues to twist reality, attempting to paint the aggressors as victims and the victims as aggressors.

The Historical Truth: Israel’s Roots and the Myth of “Palestine”

The Jewish people have an unbreakable bond with the land of Israel, dating back thousands of years. This is not a matter of opinion—it is a fact supported by archaeology, ancient texts, and history. The name “Palestine” itself was a Roman invention, imposed by Emperor Hadrian after he brutally crushed the Jewish revolt. His goal was to erase Jewish identity by renaming Judea after the Philistines, an extinct group that had no connection to Arabs or modern-day Palestinians.

When the British took control of the region, they continued to use the Roman name “Palestine,” but the term had no national significance for local Arabs, who explicitly rejected the identity of “Palestinians.” In fact, before the 1960s, the only people proudly identifying as “Palestinian” were Jews—including the Palestine Post (now The Jerusalem Post) and the Jewish “Palestine Symphony Orchestra.”

It was not until the 1960s, under the guidance of Egyptian-born terrorist Yasser Arafat and the Soviet KGB, that the idea of a “Palestinian people” was politically engineered. This was a deliberate strategy to delegitimize Israel and manufacture an artificial nationalist struggle.

The Weaponization of Lies Against Israel

Since its rebirth in 1948, Israel has faced a relentless campaign of disinformation. The lies being spread today are merely an extension of long-standing antisemitic propaganda.

Lie #1: “Israel Started the War on October 7”

Fact: On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists crossed into Israel, slaughtering, raping, and kidnapping civilians in an attack reminiscent of ISIS atrocities. Israel did not start this war—it was forced to defend itself against a barbaric assault on its people.

Lie #2: “Israel is Committing Genocide”

Fact: Israel’s conflict is with Hamas, not civilians. Unlike any other military in the world, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) use warning tactics such as “roof knocking” (dropping non-explosive devices to warn civilians before airstrikes) and sending evacuation alerts to minimize civilian casualties—a stark contrast to Hamas, which uses its own people as human shields. If Israel wanted to commit genocide, Gaza would have been flattened within days.

Lie #3: “Palestinians Deserve Their Own State on Jewish Land”

Fact: The former Ottoman Empire was divided in the 20th century, with 73% of the land given to Arab states and only 27% allocated for the Jewish homeland. The Jews accepted this, while the Arab leadership rejected it and chose war. No other nation in history has been expected to give away its land after winning defensive wars.

Lie #4: “The IDF is a Brutal, Murderous Force”

Fact: The IDF is the most moral army in the world, implementing unprecedented measures to protect civilians. Compare this to Hamas, which fires rockets from schools and hospitals, deliberately drawing Israeli counterstrikes on its own people for propaganda purposes.

The Bigger Issue: Antisemitism Disguised as “Criticism of Israel”

The growing hostility toward Israel in academic and media circles is not about human rights—it is about antisemitism. The same people who remain silent on actual genocides and human rights abuses across the world suddenly become obsessed with Israel the moment it defends itself. This is not a coincidence.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
