France Recognizes “Palestine”—A Betrayal in Broad Dayligh

In a world where words matter and symbols speak volumes, France’s recognition of “Palestine” as a state is far more than a diplomatic gesture. It is a clear, loud, and painful betrayal not just of Israel, but of the very values the West claims to uphold. Human rights. Democracy. Truth.

With this recognition, France and other nations following its lead, are not taking a neutral stand for peace. They are empowering Hamas, a terrorist organization that proudly massacred civilians on October 7th, that holds children, women, elderly, and soldiers hostage, and that vows to commit the same atrocities “again and again.” To acknowledge a state led or dominated by such an entity is to give legitimacy to barbarism.

And let’s be clear: this is not about Palestinian civilians. Israel has repeatedly demonstrated that it distinguishes between civilians and terrorists, even when Hamas deliberately hides behind its own population. This is about how the West has lost its moral compass and, knowingly or not, chosen to side with extremism.

A Terrifying Regression

Across Europe and beyond, Jews once again find themselves in fear. Jewish schools, synagogues, and cultural centers are under heightened security. Antisemitic attacks are rising at an alarming rate. In London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, and Berlin, the chant “From the river to the sea” echoes calling for the destruction of Israel, cloaked in the language of liberation.

We are not moving forward. We are racing backward into a time when Jews had no place to call home, no army to defend them, and no voice the world would hear.

France’s decision accelerates this regression. It emboldens extremists who do not want peace with Israel but its eradication. It tells Jews everywhere: your safety, your history, your trauma, none of it matters.

Hamas Exploits the Silence

While the West debates semantics and celebrates symbolic recognitions, Hamas is playing a brutal, deadly game with human lives.

According to recent reports, Hamas has still not provided a serious or formal response to Israel’s most recent proposal for a hostage deal. Instead, they have doubled down on stalling tactics, making unrealistic and horrifying demands including the release of dozens of living prisoners in exchange for every murdered hostage.

Let that sink in.

Hamas is using dead hostages as bargaining chips, demanding a reward for their executions. This isn’t negotiation, it’s extortion with corpses.

An Israeli official noted that Hamas continues to “provoke and appease all the extremist factions within Gaza,” playing both sides to maintain power. Israel, in contrast, has shown “extraordinary flexibility,” but there is a limit to how far any democracy can bend without breaking.

What Choice Does Israel Have?

The idea that Israel should simply stop fighting while its citizens remain captive is not just absurd, it’s inhumane.

No country on Earth would accept what Israel is being asked to tolerate: thousands of rockets, tunnels under kindergartens, terrorists in hospitals, and hostages hidden away as bargaining tools.

Israel has made it clear: it will continue the war until the last Hamas fighter is eliminated or has surrendered, and until every hostage is brought home, alive, if possible.

This is not a war of choice. This is a war of necessity. And any nation that values life, freedom, and security should stand unequivocally behind Israel.

The Real Road to Peace

Peace will not come through symbolic recognitions or one-sided pressure on Israel. Peace will come when terrorism is no longer rewarded and when Palestinian leadership chooses life over death, hope over hatred.

Recognizing “Palestine” under Hamas’s shadow is not a step toward peace. It’s a step toward further violence, deeper division, and greater suffering for both Israelis and Palestinians.

We must choose clarity over confusion, courage over convenience.

Now more than ever, standing with Israel is standing with humanity.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
