11 Years of Advocacy: Why I Will Never Stop Standing Up for Israel

Eleven years.
Eleven years of Israel advocacy—a roller coaster filled with danger, sadness, joy, pride, victories, and painful defeats. But through every twist and turn, one truth has remained unbreakable: Israel is my first priority, and it will be my last.

My journey began long before I officially founded Time To Stand Up For Israel. But the moment that changed everything, the moment that pushed me from frustration into action, came on November 2014, on an ordinary workday that would become unforgettable.

Har Nof: When Terror Entered a Sanctuary

On the morning of November 18, 2014, two Palestinian terrorists armed with axes, knives, and a gun stormed the Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem. Worshippers were wrapped in tallitot, praying the morning service. What followed was one of the most brutal attacks Israel had seen in years.

Four rabbis, Rabbi Moshe Twersky, Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, Rabbi Kalman Levine, and Rabbi Aryeh Kupinsky, were slaughtered in cold blood inside their own synagogue. A heroic Druze police officer, Zidan Saif, rushed to the scene, saving lives and sacrificing his own in the process. The floor was covered with prayer books and blood. It was not just a terror attack, it was a desecration of holiness, humanity, and life itself.

I remember reading it on Facebook while at work. My heart dropped. My soul felt violated. If you touch Israel, you touch my soul.

Later that evening, I was speaking with a dear Israeli friend. I checked the Dutch newspapers, expecting outrage. What did I find?

Page 6.
A short piece complaining about how “cruel” Israeli soldiers were demolishing the home of a “poor Palestinian.”
No mention that this was the home of a terrorist who had just butchered five innocent men at prayer.
No outrage. No compassion. No truth.

I was fuming. I said, “I do not understand why nobody does something.”
And my friend answered with the sentence that changed my life:
“If nobody does something… you have to do something.”

That same evening, Time To Stand Up For Israel was born.

From One Facebook Group to a Movement

Immediately I connected with another woman who felt the same urgency. And from there, the years of relentless advocacy began.

From organizing a major demonstration on Dam Square, to writing countless letters to members of parliament demanding an end to Hamas-linked youth “training camps” in the Netherlands.

From confronting hostile events, to countering antisemitic Kristallnacht commemorations attended by people like Haneen Zoabi, a former Knesset member infamous for her hatred of Israel.

Then came our weekly presence on Dam Square, standing opposite the BDS activists and Hamas supporters who polluted the square with trucks filled with propaganda and lies. Week after week, we were there. We countered falsehood with truth, hatred with dignity, and intimidation with courage.

And there were touching moments too: Israelis hugging us, tourists thanking us, even a group of Christian Egyptians apologizing on behalf of their country because a judoka refused to shake the hand of Israeli champion Ori Sasson.

Undercover Missions and Unseen Work

My advocacy wasn’t just public.
I went undercover in Münster for an Israeli NGO.
I infiltrated hostile WhatsApp groups and other online spaces to monitor growing threats.

Which brings me to October 6, 2023.

All day, I noticed unusual activity, Arabs in the groups wishing each other “good luck,” shouting “Allahu Akbar.” By late afternoon, the flow of messages became a flood. Something was happening, but I didn’t know what. I tried to reach my contact from my Münster mission, but it was Shabbat. His phone was off. I didn’t call others.

The next morning, October 7, I woke up to hundreds of messages celebrating the atrocities. Videos. Photos. Pure evil.

And I felt guilty. I still feel guilty.
If I had pushed harder, if I had reached more people, could something have been prevented?

I will never know. But I do know this:

The two years of war that followed only strengthened my determination. I will never give up on Israel.

Becoming an Official NGO and the Road Ahead

On January 30, 2023, I registered Time To Stand Up For Israel as an official NGO in the Netherlands.

Our mission is crystal clear:
Debunk lies. Educate. Advocate. Fight antisemitism. Expose terror networks. Support Israel’s right to exist and defend itself.
We do not engage in internal Israeli politics.
We stand on two principles:

  1. Israel has the right to exist.
  2. Israel has the duty to defend herself.

In 2026, we are entering a new phase.
We will begin serious fundraising to expand awareness campaigns, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives to show the world the real Israel.

This is only the beginning.

Happy birthday, Time To Stand Up For Israel.
And to Israel:
I stood with you yesterday.
I stand with you today.
And I will stand with you forever.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
