From Tragedy to Triumph: Israel Lives
Israel Rising: Strength After October 7
Enough with sadness. Israel is strong, Israel is resilient, Israel is beautiful.
While October 7, 2023, was one of the darkest days in modern Jewish history, it has also revealed something extraordinary: the unbreakable spirit of the people of Israel. Out of the ashes of terror has emerged a new wave of innovation, faith, heroism, and miracles.
Today, we celebrate everything Israel has accomplished since then — reminders that evil cannot and will not destroy life, hope, or the future of the Jewish people. Am Yisrael Chai.
Medical Miracles and Innovations
Even under the shadow of war, Israel’s hospitals and researchers have delivered groundbreaking advancements for humanity.
- Historic Brain Surgery: At Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv, doctors performed the nation’s first-ever minimally invasive brain surgery through the eye socket, removing a rare tumor without opening the skull. The young patient recovered with minimal scarring and regained her health. A true miracle of Israeli medicine.
- Parkinson’s Breakthrough: Israeli researchers developed a method to detect markers of Parkinson’s disease up to 15 years before symptoms appear and giving hope to millions worldwide.
- Lab-Made Organoids: Scientists at Bar-Ilan University created organoids capable of producing testosterone, a revolutionary step toward treating male infertility.
- AI-Driven Cancer Care: Hadassah Medical Organization has advanced personalized immunotherapy using artificial intelligence, offering patients life-saving customized treatments.
- Immersive Rehabilitation: Sheba Medical Center introduced “video game therapy” rooms, making rehabilitation more engaging and effective for recovering patients.
- Expanded National Health Basket: 110 new medications and medical technologies were approved in 2024, improving treatment access for over 300,000 Israelis.
These are not just medical milestones; they are proof that life and healing thrive in Israel, even when surrounded by hate.
Miracles of the Human Spirit
- Father-Son Reunion in Gaza: An IDF commander was reunited with his soldier son under a military tent in Gaza. Their embrace symbolized the strength of Israeli families who serve, sacrifice, and protect together.
- Brothers in Arms: When an IDF soldier, “Dalet,” was gravely injured and could not keep his promise to walk his little brother to school, his comrades stepped in. On the first day of first grade, two soldiers in uniform showed up at Yehonatan’s door and walked him to class. That is Israel: a family that never leaves anyone behind.
- Spiritual Awakening: Avri Gilad, one of Israel’s most famous TV personalities, had not worn tefillin since his bar mitzvah. Recently, at age 62, he did so again — describing the experience as deeply moving. Across Israel, many Jews are reconnecting with faith, tradition, and purpose.
- A Chess Champion for Israel: Tícia, a three-time Hungarian women’s chess champion, made aliyah and joined Israel’s national team. Another story of talent, strength, and homecoming.
Victory Over Evil
Israel does not only build; it also defends.
In 2024, the IDF eliminated senior Hamas terrorist Abu Ubaida, who for decades spread hate and violence. His death marked a victory for justice and a safer future for Israelis and Palestinians alike. The world is a better place without him.
Everyday Heroism
Since October 7, the entire nation has mobilized to support one another:
- Civilians harvest crops for farmers called to reserve duty.
- Volunteers prepare meals for soldiers and displaced families.
- Rabbis, teachers, and neighbors open their homes to strangers in need.
- Diaspora Jews worldwide unite in prayer, advocacy, and solidarity.
This is the real story of Israel: not despair, but hope; not weakness, but resilience; not destruction, but rebirth.
A Nation That Lives
Israel’s enemies believed October 7 would break the Jewish spirit. Instead, it ignited it. Out of tragedy came unity, courage, and innovation. Out of sorrow came miracles of medicine, acts of kindness, and stories of faith.
Yes, sadness exists. Yes, lives were lost. But Israel proves every single day that the Jewish people will live, create, and thrive long after cultures of death vanish into history.
Israel was, is, and will be victorious forever.
Am Yisrael Chai.
