Greta and the Selfie Yachtsmen
Greta Thunberg claims she was kidnapped. If you believe that, I have a big, beautiful bridge to sell you.
“Tell me what you accuse the Jews of, and I’ll tell you what you’re guilty of.” (Vasily Grossman) Greta and her cohort on the Selfie Yacht have not the slightest inkling what it’s like to be kidnapped. When asked by NBC news what her last few hours were like before returning home, she deflected, saying it was nothing like what the Gazans are going through.
The Selfie Yacht was intercepted before it could “break the siege” of Gaza. The Israeli Navy boarded the vessel, handed out water and sandwiches to the Selfies, then towed them to Ashdod, an Israeli port further north. This is Greta’s idea of being kidnapped. Israeli hostages who returned from Gaza were lucky to have one pita a day and a cup of water.
Interesting to note: The Selfie Yacht was carrying less than one truck’s worth of relief supplies to a population whose only difficulty in accessing aid comes from Hamas. This was nothing more than a publicity stunt. The Selfie food was sent on to an aid truck, but it’s not known if it reached Gaza. Hamas is shooting aid workers, Palestinians, who are working with Israel to deliver food to the Gazans.
In Ashdod, the IDF attempted to show the Selfies a brutal 47-minute video of the Oct. 7th Hamas attack. Greta and the others refused to watch. Greta said, “They tried to make us watch all kinds of propaganda videos.” The video includes photos and clips taken by captured Hamas terrorists, security videos, survivor clips, and IDF videos and photos taken afterwards. The film shows barbarians having much fun abusing Jews; and they filmed it all. Videos of women being raped, tortured, breasts cut off and used for a game of catch. Children and the elderly brutalized, beaten, beheaded. And of course – 256 were actually kidnapped – some never to return.
The film I saw showed bodies of people who had been bound and shot. Another room held bodies burned to ash. Civilians were shot in bedrooms, bathrooms, and front yards. The blood ran thickly into hallways. In another clip I saw an Israeli kid at the Nova Music Festival. He was hiding behind a car. A terrorist shot him – dead – and proudly filmed it.
Maj. Gen. Itai Veruv, a 39-year veteran of the Israeli army who led forces that reclaimed a village from militants, said, “You see the babies, the mothers, the fathers in their bedrooms and how the terrorists killed. It’s not a battlefield. It’s a massacre.”
When I was in Israel in January, I bore witness to many farms and kibbutzim that were destroyed by Hamas barbarians. Bullet holes and blood stains everywhere. I stood outside the Bibas house at Kibbutz Nir Oz and looked through a blown-out window. I saw a watercolor of Shiri Bibas and her two beautiful boys, Ariel and Kfir, hanging above the family dining table These hostage children were later returned – murdered by strangulation.

Antisemitism is a means rather than an end. The anti-Zionist movement uses antisemitism as a form of projection, where those who hate Jews accuse them of their own wrongdoings. The terrorists kidnapped Israelis so the Selfies wanted to show how brutal the Israelis can be by “kidnapping” them. The world yells genocide, but the only genocide is against the Jews who have been brutalized and displaced for thousands of years.
In fact, Jews have been expelled not only from Israel, their indigenous homeland, but from countries around the globe 1,030 Times. In 1948, 850,000 Jews were expelled from Middle Eastern countries. Smart people might take a deep dive into history, see these anti-Zionist demonstrations around the world for what they are: Jew-hatred, plain and simple.
