Hadassah Now

Are you fed up with the War?
Are you heartbroken for the families of the Hostages?
Have you given up on the release of the Hostages — no matter their condition?
Are you fired up against Antisemitism?
Or can you explain your Zionism?
Don’t you know about the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO)?
Don’t you know about the Gandel Rehabilitation Facility?
Don’t you know about the brilliant medical breakthroughs taking place at HMO in Israel every day?
What about Hadassah’s advocacy efforts in the U.S?
What about Hadassah’s advocacy of Holocaust Education?
And what about Hadassah’s Youth Villages in Israel?
One person can protect the legacy.
One gift can save a child.
Or a teacher. Or a doctor. Or a farmer.
Are you Our Person?
Be the One!
Open your minds.
Open your eyes.
Open your heart.
Open your wallet.
Join the Women Who Do.
Hadassah Heals.
Hadassah NOW
I was inspired to write the above poem after hearing Steven Mark, Chief Development Officer for Hadassah National, speak to Hadassah Southern California / LA Metro members on Thursday, September 11. He’s recently assumed that fundraising position and this was our introduction to him.
Mark is a soft spoken, well-informed, goal oriented young man who sees the various ways of donating to Hadassah as its strength. He explained how we can make assigned gifts, as well as unrestricted donations that go into the Hadassah General Fund. A pledge to give annually, he also told us, is a great option because it’s a very strong component in meeting Israel’s needs.
I learned a lot about the distribution of funds and where they might be most useful in Hadassah’s mission to safeguard the land and people of Israel. I hope I’ve inspired each of you, my readers, to put your heart and wallet together in these trying times.
Ronnie is a member of the Hadassah Writers’ Circle, a dynamic and diverse writing group for leaders and members to express their thoughts and feelings about all the things Hadassah does to make the world a better place.
