Hamas and Qatar: The New Puppet Masters of America

Only in today’s insane geopolitics could America embrace Qatar—a terror sponsor, Iran’s lapdog, the Muslim Brotherhood’s banker—as if it were NATO. But that is exactly what Donald Trump just did.

Qatar did not win this status by merit. It bought it—with billions in U.S. military aircraft, opaque real estate investments in New York, fat checks to American universities, even seeding Tucker Carlson’s new media project (which explain why this “great American patriot” -now a foreign agent since Doha owns 60% of “Tucker Carlson Network”- has shifted away from most of his key political views). Doha bankrolls Hamas, shelters Muslim Brotherhood leaders, and rolls out the carpet for Taliban envoys. Yet instead of isolating this terror pit, Washington protects it—and even promises to defend it.

After Israel struck Hamas operatives in Doha, Trump’s Washington handed Qatar a NATO-style security guarantee, an Article 5 shield in all but name. Think about that: America will defend Iran’s closest Arab ally as if it were France or Germany. That is how bought and paid for Trump is.

And then came the hostages. Trump gave Hamas three to four days to decide on his diplomatic proposal: release them all or be crushed. Israel agreed to the terms. Hamas laughed.

Abu Marsouk, one of Hamas’s senior leaders, openly admitted that they would not release everyone at once because they do not want to and because other terror thugs like Palestinian Islamic Jihad or the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine -who hold captives too in the Strip- have “lost track of some of the hostages”.

To make this sound odd and phony, Hamas now argues that the IDF’s withdrawal from Gaza is “the best solution to locate living hostages” and they have rabidly ruled out partial or full demilitarization (which is, in my opinion, the most important aspect of Trump‘s proposal besides the hostages’ release).

In plain English: Hamas never accepted the deal.

Trump had sworn that not a “comma” of his plan could change. He warned Hamas: refuse, and Israel has the right to finish you in Gaza. But when Hamas balked, Trump caved. On ‘Truth Social’ he absurdly declared “Hamas is ready for peace” (the Muslim Brotherhood’s branch in Gaza and the West Bank -Hamas- was even surprised by the extent to which US President Donald Trump embraced the group’s response to his proposal) and, in the ultimate betrayal, ordered the IDF to halt its operations. Netanyahu—blindsided—was forced to comply. Trump just betrayed Israel.

Why? Because Trump is obsessed with winning a Nobel Peace Prize to burnish his legacy. It is vanity dressed up as diplomacy, a botched job that hands Hamas breathing room and leaves Israel exposed.

Meanwhile, Qatar laughs. Its cash has bought Trump’s ear and Washington’s loyalty. Israel and Saudi Arabia get shoved aside, while Doha—banker to Hamas, friend to Tehran—walks off with U.S. weapons, bases, and now NATO-style protection. Riyadh, once the cornerstone of U.S. policy, is left wondering whether Moscow and Beijing are safer bets.

For Israel, this is treason in slow motion. Jerusalem is surrounded by Iranian proxies in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria—and Washington is cozying up to Doha and Ankara, the two most hostile capitals to Jewish survival. The Abraham Accords proved that peace comes from strength. Trump’s sellout proves surrender comes from cash.

This is not a strategy—it is prostitution. Washington has whored itself to Qatar. This Doha-sponsored treason will allow Hamas to survive as a functional terrorist organization and puts at risk again -like on October 6th, 2023- the borders of the State of Israel. The Jewish State sees it. Saudi Arabia sees it. The only ones who are blind are in Washington. And here is the truth: alliances with Iran’s friends never end in peace—they end in blood.

Yes, Israel may win back its hostages, and that will be a moment of relief—a chance to heal a wound that has cut deep into the soul of this nation. However, the reality is harsher than the headlines suggest.

Without a doubt, far fewer hostages alive than the public has been led to believe will come home. At the same time, this deal does not end the war; it only buys Hamas time. They will rebuild, rearm, and prepare for the next massacre.

The cruel irony is that while Israel embraces its freed sons and daughters, it is already being dragged toward another round of fire and blood. The hostages may come home, but the war will follow them.

After almost 2,500 Israelis have died because of this war, more than 800,000 people have been displaced within our borders, the State of Israel does not deserve this. We deserve the eradication of Hamas, the full return of all of our hostages, and a new geopolitical horizon that allows us to live in real and lasting peace.
