We know that the US president only watches Fox News and only reads my blog posts. Less is more. So let me tell the Master Negotiator how he can emerge victoriously from his stand-off with the Senate and House.
The government shut-down seems a deadlock between the egos of the Democrat Representatives (and their Republican counterparts’ who are happy that their colleagues block wasting money on this silly wall idea) and the President’s self-esteem but a surprise could be coming up soon.
Sometimes one can win by giving in.
Trump should declare on television that he feels very much for the workers who don’t get paid because of Democrats’ stubbornness and refusal to negotiate in good faith. Therefore he decided to listen to the people who are most important, the workers, and reopen government.
He’ll have other ways to get money for the wall that we all know is so important. He’ll also add a one-time 5% bonus to all their outstanding payments. We don’t want the real patriots to suffer from the bad acts of professional politicians who have their salaries come out in time.
He will salute the tenacity and perseverance of the forgotten men and women of America and their ability to stay calm and sacrifice for the bigger good of the nation – unlike the Democrats, who are on a paid vacation – and the fake media who blamed him solely for the stalemate.
He may also point out one more way that the Democrats have been unconstructive – pun not intended. In negotiations, they could have had all kinds of points realized that are important to their electorate. They have betrayed also their voters by their unwillingness to bargain.
How in the world don’t they understand that it’s not fair that people work without pay while they are on a paid vacation? Some have said: but they are talking with each other. Yes, they’re desperately trying to be constructive, to extend their influence beyond just saying no. And I’m supposed to just sit in the White House waiting for them to get their act together? Not at expense of the common men and women of America!
Furthermore, Trump will dedicate his own salary for this month to a cause soon to be announced.
Trump already doesn’t mind losing but he simply likes winning better.
