If You Think Israel Shouldn’t Exist, You Need to Listen to This Podcast

I’m going to be direct: this post is not for people who already support Israel. It’s for the ones who don’t.

If you’ve convinced yourself that Zionism is indefensible, that Israel’s existence is a historical mistake, that there’s no serious intellectual case for Jewish self-determination – I want you to listen to the latest episode of the Future of Jewish podcast before you keep going with that position.

Host Neil Turitz interviews Kyle B. Jones, who writes the newsletter The Inverted World. Kyle spent over a decade as an ardent anti-Zionist. He wasn’t uninformed. He studied at Boston University, took courses at Hebrew College, studied under Jewish professors…  many of whom were anti-Zionist themselves. He had every reason to feel intellectually secure in his position.

Then he actually started researching. And he changed his mind.

That’s the conversation. A smart person, with real credentials in this space, who held your position and walked out of it. Not because someone bullied him. Not because he stopped caring about Palestinians. Because he looked harder at the evidence and arrived somewhere different.

You don’t have to agree with where he landed. But if your position is as solid as you think it is, one podcast episode shouldn’t threaten it. And if it does… that’s worth sitting with.
