Is Gadi Eisenkot waiting for Godot?

President Herzog just announced that Gadi Eisenkot will be granted the mandate to form a coalition to govern the state of Israel. Eisenkot invited anyone who accepts his four principles to join him, and it appears that he believes that eventually people will come. Will Eisenkot become the tragic figure of Samuel Beckett’s play “Waiting for Godot,” longing for external salvation that never comes?

Gadi Eisenkot showed that he has the skills needed to become the leader of the opposition. He has to show now that he has the qualities needed to become the leader of the state of Israel by calling Benjamin Netanyahu and meeting with him to discuss the future of the country.

For details, I refer you to the article I published on November 6 in the Times of Israel, titled “The final election results are out: A perspective from California.”
