Israel Cannot be a European Colonizing Nation

A basic web search for Israel is a colonizer results in vast amounts of articles showing clearly anti-Jewish sentiment to propagate the false belief that Israel has no right to exist as a Jewish nation or any nation at all. The claim of the Jews being a white European power who dominates the land through barbarism seen only in reality by the likes of Hamas, in order to claim it as their own by sending settlers and conquerors is patently false.

Robert Longley’s article in ThoughCo published on February 16, 2021, sums up colonialism rather succinctly, “Colonialism is the practice of one country taking full or partial political control of another country and occupying it with settlers for purposes of profiting from its resources and economy. Since both practices involve the political and economic control of a dominant country over a vulnerable territory, colonialism can be hard to distinguish from imperialism.”

In order to be a colonizing force, there must be a mother or father country from which settlers are sent to colonize the land. Every colonized people today know exactly which country has colonized them. Puerto Ricans know they are an American colony every bit as much as Canadians knows they are a British colony.

Who is the European mother or father country of Israel?

There is no European country who has colonized Israel to bring about the Jewish state, which means Israel, by definition, cannot be a colonizing force.

Israel, today, is not made up of white Europeans who either directly or through their ancestry, colonized the land through conquest, but of those who fled violence against the Jews in other nations, like Iraq and Ethiopia. Most Jews who live in Israel do not have European heritage, since their ancestors never ended up in Europe.

The only way Israel can be colonial is if Israel exists the same as any other nation and colonizing surrounding land. Since this is denied by those who claim Israel to be a colonizing force, they are unable to make their argument. Not that it matters to those who hate Jews, since the facts do not matter to those who hate.

Colonialism tends to be discussed in terms of modern times. It is as if colonialism is a recent action with nothing in the past occurring, since the Europeans were the primary focus of colonization at that time. They want anything associated with Europe, including the false belief that all Jews are European, to be seen as a negative.

Early African colonialism occurred much earlier in history from both Europe and Arabia. Had it not been for the Muslim settlements in Africa, perhaps this early period would be more widely known. The historical evidence is clear that Arabs, who were Asians, settled Madagascar shortly after their prophet Muhammed’s death or ascension according to Islamic belief.

GlobalSecurity states: “The written history of Madagascar began in the seventh century AD, when Arabs established trading posts along the northwest coast.”

There were no European colonizers to get there before the Arabs settled the area. No European had even seen Madagascar until centuries later. The colonization that occurred could not be written off as European. If everything Europe did throughout its history is wrong, as those who see everything through the lens of race do, then it must make the Arabs equally wrong when they did the exact same thing.

Despite the lesser-known history of early colonization, the act of colonization can be either good or bad, depending on the parent country. The Spanish had little interest in settlements, but went in search of conquest to further Spain’s interest. The English sent families along with soldiers. The Arabs set up trading posts and, in some cases, acted as brutally as Spain or Portugal.

During Solomon’s rule, there was expansion and colonization, which led Ethiopia to becoming a Jewish empire. In order for colonization to occur, it had to be from an existing kingdom, which was a Jewish kingdom.

Vast amounts of archaeological evidence that exists to prove Israel did exist, including the wall, but even that is denied by those who hate Jews with the desire to believe there never was an Israelite kingdom. Those who do accept the archaeological evidence tend to claim the people that existed then are not descended from the same people who make the claim today.

Thousands of years have passed since Israel was a colonizing force and expanded anything. During that time, empires have come and gone, including Islamic, who brought trade, settlements and conquest. Forced conversions by Christian and Islamist government did happen to the Jewish people, which the Jewish people never forced conversion on anyone.

Every empire started as a single nation and grew over time through settlement of land, trade, and conquest. Israel, since its rebirth, has not sought to expand anything. They agreed to the two-state solution that created Jordan, giving Jordan the larger landmass. In exchange for their agreement, they were attacked and lost land that wouldn’t be regained until after several defensive wars had passed.

Israel is not the colonizing and conquering force in the region. The Arab states and north African nations are. They have ethnically cleansed the Jewish populations who have lived in those nations for thousands of years, without ever seeking to become a dominant force in any nation they were forced to flee to. Millions of Jews have been killed and murdered as they were forced out of their homes.

The colonization, and other things used in the negative to describe Israel, can all be attributed to the surrounding nations who are guilty of what they charge Israel with. Israel, despite its military power, has not sought to expand any border through force. They have always acted defensively.

Had there been a Jewish state created in Europe which sent people to colonize, then Israel could classify as colonizing. There is no European nation, Jewish or not, sending anyone to colonize where Israel stands. Without a mother or father nation, they cannot be European colonizers.

Why do those who attack Israel and Jews, both verbally and physically, hold to the belief that Jews are nothing more than white imperialists who conquered and colonized to bring Israel into existence?

The belief that the world was at peace until Europeans spoiled Eden is the myth some of those who hate currently cling to as an excuse to justify their hatred.

The three oldest civilizations known were Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley and Egypt. The first two were in Asia and the third in Africa. They came to power through conquest long before any European did anything of note. There was no Eden then and there is no Eden now. Man’s inhumanity to man knows known continental boundaries.
