Israel Must Finish the Job
The recent Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities was not just justified—it was necessary. Faced with credible intelligence that the Islamic Republic was on the brink of developing nuclear weapons, Israel had little choice but to act. In the face of existential threats, preemption is not only a right; it is a moral obligation. But while the strike may delay Iran’s nuclear ambitions, it does not resolve the root of the problem: the regime itself.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is not merely a threat because of its nuclear aspirations. It is the ideological and financial engine behind nearly every enemy Israel faces. From Hezbollah in Lebanon, to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza, to Houthis in Yemen and even to terrorist cells in Europe and Latin America—the money, the training, the weapons, and the strategy comes from Tehran.
The war in Gaza is not merely a Hamas-Israel conflict; it is Iran’s proxy war. Hamas rockets, tunnels, intelligence systems, and the genocidal indoctrination that fuels its fighters are all underwritten by the Iranian regime. Hezbollah, with over 150,000 missiles pointed at Israeli cities, receives hundreds of millions of dollars annually from Tehran. Iran doesn’t hide it—it brags about it. Its leadership routinely threatens Israel’s destruction and pledges eternal war against the Jewish state.
Even outside the Middle East, Iranian fingerprints are unmistakable. In early May 2025, MI5 and British counter-terrorism police arrested five Iranian nationals suspected of planning a terrorist attack targeting the Israeli embassy in Kensington, London—another clear sign that the regime’s war on Israel is global. Iranian agents and operatives continue to target Jewish individuals, synagogues, and diplomats across Europe, Latin America, and Africa. This is not a conventional regime with conventional enemies. This is an outlaw regime engaged in a permanent campaign of terrorism.
Which brings us to the question: Can Israel truly be safe while this regime remains in power?
The answer is no.
Neutralizing Iran’s nuclear facilities may delay the day of reckoning, but it cannot eliminate the threat posed by the Islamic Republic’s very existence. The regime is not driven by rational cost-benefit calculations but by an apocalyptic ideology that glorifies martyrdom, embraces chaos, and sees Israel’s destruction as a religious duty. They truly believe by destroying Israel, they will hasten the advent of the Promised Mahdi and the End of Days, and they are convinced of their eventual victory. That is the will of Allah, they believe. Their hostility with Israel will never end, just as the hostility of the so called Palestinians with the Jewish state will never end. People who think otherwise, do not know Islam.
If Israel wishes to secure its future, it must not stop with strikes on nuclear sites. It must work—strategically, intelligently, and with precision—to bring about the collapse of the Islamic regime itself. This does not mean boots on the ground or the occupation of Iran. Rather, it requires full-spectrum coordination with the Iranian opposition, inside and outside the country, who have long been waiting for a moment of support and solidarity.
Contrary to regime propaganda, the Iranian people are not Israel’s enemies. In fact, they may be Israel’s greatest untapped allies. Polls, protests, and underground networks all indicate that a majority of Iranians reject the regime’s hostility toward Israel and yearn for a secular, democratic government. Many remember with pride the close relations Iran once had with Israel before 1979, when mutual respect, economic partnership, and regional cooperation flourished.
Today, the regime is weaker than it has ever been. Economically devastated by sanctions and mismanagement, diplomatically isolated, and facing repeated waves of civil unrest, the Islamic Republic is a dying entity sustained only by brute force and foreign propaganda. The recent protests led by Iranian women and youth have exposed the regime’s fragility. Now is the time to strike—not just militarily, but ideologically and politically.
Israel has the tools. With world-class intelligence, cyber capabilities, and growing diplomatic influence, it can play a vital role in supporting Iranian dissidents, exposing regime crimes, sabotaging its military infrastructure, and applying relentless pressure on its remaining allies. This effort must be done in concert with the global Iranian diaspora, which is increasingly organized, vocal, and determined to see the end of this tyranny.
There is also a moral imperative. For too long, the world has tolerated a regime that murders its own citizens, oppresses women, executes children, and exports death. If Israel leads the way in helping the Iranian people liberate themselves, it will not only ensure its own security but also win the admiration and gratitude of a nation with whom it shares thousands of years of cultural ties.
Israel has defeated its enemies before. But it has never faced an enemy so deeply entrenched across multiple fronts. Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and a growing axis of armed proxies across the region do not exist in isolation. They are the limbs of a hydra whose head is in Tehran. You cannot destroy the monster by chopping off its fingers. You must strike at its head.
The Islamic regime is the single greatest obstacle to peace in the Middle East. As long as it survives, Israel will remain under threat. Its citizens will remain targets, both inside and outside the country, its borders will remain volatile, and its economy will be forced to divert resources to defense rather than innovation.
But a free Iran? That would change everything.
A democratic Iran would not fund terrorism, but trade. It would not chant “Death to Israel,” but celebrate life and partnership. A free Iran would be a natural ally of Israel—economically, politically, and culturally. It would transform the balance of power in the region and set an example for other Muslim-majority nations seeking a path out of theocracy and tyranny.
This window of opportunity will not remain open forever. If Israel acts now—wisely, boldly, and in solidarity with the Iranian people—it can help bring down one of the most dangerous regimes of our time and usher in a new era of peace and cooperation in the Middle East.
The time to act is now. Israel must not stop until the job is finished.
