It’s time to be moral

When an organism has a superficial, but aggressive and invasive, cancer, any treatment should aim to eliminate all destructive cells.

There is no better metaphor to describe what Israel, a healthy organism, suffers from its Gazan neighbors, with whom it shares an epidermal relationship.

The cancer that attacks Israel is also harmful to Gaza itself because it transforms healthy cells into cancerous ones, resulting in the formation of an autophagic organism that causes self-destruction.

Fighting terrorism requires the same determination and effort that cancer treatment does. You cannot negotiate with cancer nor with terror. Cancer cells and terrorists must be eliminated completely, until no trace of their existence remains. Many times, in the fight against cancer, we sacrifice important organs for the greater good. This is how Israel must see the remaining hostages in Gaza, as well as the soldiers, who are fighting terrorists who live in underground tunnels like snakes or rats.

Netanyahu, in certain way, is responsible for the invasion and the horrible attack perpetrated by the Gazans in October, the 7th. He was always lenient toward Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah, believing that the ‘Iron Dome’ would stop terrorists in the same way that palliative treatments try to slow the spread of a violent, lethal cancer. You must fight against the source besides trying to contain the vectors.

Now, Netanyahu has the opportunity to atone for his mistakes by being intransigent and doing what any ruler who makes decisions based on moral principles would do: you don’t negotiate with terrorists, you don’t back down when you’re winning, and you don’t ceasefire against an enemy who wants to exterminate you, unless you get their unconditional surrender followed by the possibility to, in this case, denazify the area you have conquered.

Yes, to achieve peace is the ultimate goal of this war. However, it must be established and maintained at the appropriate time, with appropriate measures, in agreement with appropriate people, after total victory over the enemy and the resurgence of justice. Victory is the only moral way to bring justice and peace back to the land of Israel.
