Joe Biden Was the Worst Ally To Israel

For decades, Israel could count on unwavering support from the United States. Presidents from both parties recognized its strategic importance and the moral necessity of standing with the Jewish state. That era is over.

The Democratic Party has turned its back on Israel, and former President Joe Biden has led the charge. His administration empowered Israel’s enemies, weakened its ability to defend itself, and allowed anti-Israel sentiment to fester in American politics. The damage is undeniable.

One of Biden’s first major betrayals of Israel was his decision to restore funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). This agency, which claims to provide aid to Palestinians, has been repeatedly exposed for its ties to Hamas.

The first Trump administration cut funding to UNRWA precisely because of its connections to terrorism, its corruption, and its role in indoctrinating children with anti-Israel propaganda. Biden reversed that decision, pumping hundreds of millions of dollars back into an organization that has been caught using its schools and facilities to store weapons for Hamas.

The results were predictable. After Oct. 7th, evidence emerged that UNRWA employees were directly involved in the attack. Yet Biden continued sending money for about a month. This wasn’t just a policy mistake—it was a moral disgrace. By restoring funding to UNRWA, Biden directly helped Hamas strengthen its operations and put Israeli civilians in greater danger.

The Democratic Party’s hostility toward Israel was on full display in July 2024, when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Washington, D.C., to address a joint session of Congress. This was an opportunity to reaffirm the historic U.S.-Israel alliance. Instead, 92 U.S. lawmakers, almost all Democrats, boycotted Netanyahu’s speech. Outside, thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered, emboldened by the Biden administration’s weakness in standing up for Israel.

This level of disrespect toward an Israeli leader was unprecedented. When Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas visited Washington, Democrats welcomed him warmly—even though his government financially rewards terrorists who murder Israelis. The contrast speaks volumes.

Biden’s cold treatment of Netanyahu is not just personal—it reflects the Democratic Party’s growing hostility toward Israel. Once upon a time, support for Israel was bipartisan. Today, progressives in Biden’s party openly call Israel an “apartheid state” and demand that military aid be cut off. Biden did nothing to nothing to stop them.

Biden’s approach to Israel’s security has been equally disastrous. Since Oct. 7th, when Hamas carried out the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, Biden has repeatedly pressured Israel to agree to ceasefires that benefit Hamas. Instead of supporting Israel’s right to eliminate the terrorist threat, he has treated Netanyahu like an obstacle and lectured Israel on “proportionality” while failing to hold Hamas accountable for its war crimes.

Perhaps the most outrageous moment came when Biden publicly opposed Israel’s planned military operation in Rafah. Netanyahu made it clear that Hamas had significant terrorist infrastructure in the area and that an operation there was necessary to dismantle it. Biden told Israel no. He threatened to withhold military aid if Netanyahu went forward with the operation. This was a stunning betrayal—Israel was left to fight a terrorist group while its greatest ally tried to stop it.

The hypocrisy is staggering. Imagine if, after 9/11, a foreign leader told the U.S. not to invade Afghanistan because it might be “disproportionate.” Americans would have been outraged, and rightfully so. But Biden applied this absurd double standard to Israel.

Israel’s most dangerous enemy is not Hamas—it is Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Iran funds and arms Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad, all of whom seek to destroy Israel. The first Trump administration had Iran on the ropes with crippling sanctions and military deterrence. Biden threw Iran a lifeline.

His administration loosened sanctions on Iranian oil exports, allowing the regime to rake in billions of dollars—money that went straight into funding terrorist groups. Worse, Biden sought to revive the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, which would have paved the way for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.

When Iran launched an unprecedented missile attack on Israel in April 2024, Biden urged Israel not to retaliate. Israel was under direct assault, yet Biden’s first instinct was to protect Iran from the consequences.

The problem goes beyond Biden himself. The Democratic Party has drifted so far left that support for Israel is no longer guaranteed. In the past, both parties recognized Israel as a vital ally and a moral cause. Today, many Democrats side with Israel’s enemies.

Progressive Democrats have repeatedly tried to cut U.S. military aid to Israel, even as Israel faces the worst terrorist attack in its history. They spread false claims that Israel is committing “genocide” while ignoring the fact that Hamas uses civilians as human shields. Members of Congress like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar openly promote antisemitic conspiracy theories, and Biden does nothing to stop them.

At this point, it is clear: The Democratic Party has left the Jews.
