Khiralla Delivers Speech at Gustav Adolfs Square, Sweden on October 7 Memorial

On the second anniversary of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Hamas militia on October 7, 2023, I took part two days ago in an event held in Malmö, Sweden, to commemorate the innocent victims and to remind the world of the hostages still held captive in Hamas’s tunnels.

I delivered my speech in Arabic from the heart of Gustav Adolfs Square. The speech, which was warmly received, was later published as an article in the Swedish newspaper Bulletin. I am also sharing it here on Times of Israel, so that my readers, both inside and outside Israel, can know what I said on this exceptional day for me.

Here is the full text:

Today, we gather to mark the second anniversary of the horrific and criminal acts beyond the capacity of words to describe committed by the terrorist organization Hamas on October 7, 2023.

We remind the world, particularly those who deliberately choose to forget, that 48 Israelis are still being held captive in Hamas’s tunnels, enduring agony and suffering for two full years.

I must take a step back to clarify certain essential facts that have been intentionally concealed from the European public for reasons left “unknown.”

These are facts about the Arab–Israeli conflict, in which Israel, contrary to popular narratives, has always sought peace with its neighbors.

On July 8, 1937, the so-called Peel Commission, formally known as the British Royal Commission, published its report proposing the partition of the land between Jews and Arabs.

The Arabs rejected the proposal. The leading opponent was Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and head of the Supreme Islamic Council, who years later met both Mussolini and Hitler in November 1941 and blessed what became known as “the Final Solution.”

The events of October 7, 2023, are nothing but a continuation of that old dream, perpetuated by the heirs and disciples of Amin al-Husseini. Hamas succeeded in realizing it and has repeatedly declared its intent to replicate “October Sevens” whenever possible.

But they are not alone. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, shares the same ideological orientation though not always overtly. Only a few days ago, he delivered a virtual address at the so-called “Global Conference for the Two-State Solution,” wearing a pin on his jacket bearing an unmistakable implication: a call for the annihilation of the Jews.

There have been countless peace initiatives too many to detail now.

At Camp David in 2000, Ehud Barak accepted all of Yasser Arafat’s demands under the supervision of Bill Clinton, yet Arafat refused.

The same pattern repeated in 2008 when Ehud Olmert made a generous offer again rejected by Mahmoud Abbas.

The conclusion is clear: Israel accepts peace initiatives, while the Arab side repeatedly rejects them even though the Jewish right to the land is affirmed in the very verses of the Qur’an.

Today, some seek international recognition as a tactical step to legitimize global terrorism, as if to crown the massacres of October 7.

What is happening now is a form of civilizational suicide in Europe an act of betrayal committed by some of its own children, a reversal of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

At the “Two-State Solution Conference,” held on September 22, 2025, a new declaration was effectively issued one that glorifies and praises torture, murder, arson, rape, and kidnapping: everything Hamas perpetrated on that dark day.

Today, as I stand before you at this commemoration, I have chosen to wear the image of Vivian Silver, that great woman who dedicated her life to peace and to helping the people of Gaza.

Hamas knew her well, yet showed her no mercy murdering her in cold blood.

Even those who extended their hands to help were not spared from death.

Have we learned the lesson?

I am deeply grateful to this great nation Sweden which welcomed me after I was forced to leave Egypt several years ago.

I see many missing truths about the Arab–Israeli conflict and strive to present them through my articles and research.

I am always ready to explain and clarify for anyone who truly seeks to know “the hidden truths.”

I am not concerned with the labels or accusations of betrayal that I have faced or may face in the future; what matters to me is standing on the right side of history.

Finally, I wish to thank my dear friend Ilan for suggesting that I deliver this address, and to thank you the brave people who continue to honor the victims of this defining day, a day that tested humanity itself, and in which many failed resoundingly.

To the souls of the victims of October 7: peace, serenity, and love.
