Liberals of the world, Wake up!
The organization “campaign against anti-Semitism” posted a very interesting video that if analyzed carefully can give us a lot of insight of today’s problems. (Watch video.) In case you don’t have the opportunity to watch it for yourself, let me briefly recount in the next paragraph what happened in that interview.
At an interview at Paris’ huge anti-terror rally on Sunday Dec 11th, 2015. BBC’s reporter Tim Wilcox was talking to a French Jewish woman about the current situation in France.
At a point, during the interview, Wilcox asked the woman “Do you think the situation can be resolved?”
To which the woman began responding –“Yes of course, we have not to be afraid to say that the Jews are the target now, it’s not only the…”
At this point Wilcox jumped in and interrupted her by saying “Many critics though, of Israel’s policy, would suggest that the Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well” then he continued, “but you understand, everything is seen from different perspectives?” to which the woman replied “of course!”
Truth is, nobody could be more right in this interview than the woman being interviewed when she responds “of course!” to Wilcox’s question “but you understand, everything is seen from different perspectives?”
“Of course!” everything is seen from different perspectives.
That is still the case even when two people belong to the same religion, the same country, the same school, and even the same family. We all see events through our individual perspective. There are no two equal perspectives in the world, and that is in fact, what makes us individuals.
But the question then becomes, can the fact that we all have a different perspective justify any action?
Didn’t Hitler also see things from a “different perspective” as Wilcox would say? Didn’t Bin-Laden also have his own unique way of seeing things?
Isn’t it also true that if a man comes into a random family’s home, kills the husband, rapes the wife and then sets the whole thing on fire he also has his side to the story? Isn’t this true for everyone? As the French woman very correctly said, “Of course!”
But if we hold by that, then every single human action, no mattering how inhumane and disgusting that action really is, becomes justifiable. Just as every single one of us, the perpetrator will also always have “his own unique perspective.”
If you ask me, I really don’t think Tim Wilcox said this with an evil intention; I also don’t think that he is an anti-Semite.
In fact, I believe that he and most people who try to put themselves in the shoes of another person, do so because they have good hearts. They do so because they are good people, and they are trying to avoid an injustice.
The problem with this is, that if we defend people who in our eyes appear to be the victim, if we feel bad for the “weaker side” and defend them without really knowing the facts first, then not only are we not helping at all; but on the contrary, we are helping perpetuating the problem. Even worse, if we do that, we are in fact, becoming part of those same horrible injustices that made us raise our voices in the first place (even if we intend to do the complete opposite.).
This is the problem with liberals around the world. They raise their voices because they are exceptional and brave people who hate injustice; That is a fact. The problem is, a lot of times they don’t realize that they themselves are injustices’ best friends.
This is the problem with Israeli left-wingers too. This is the problem with people like Tzipi Livni, with people like Isaac Herzog.
Livni and Herzog are not anti-Zionists (they are the opposite of that). Livni and Herzog are certainly not anti-Semites!
The only thing they want to do is to help everybody.
But people wanting to indiscriminately help everybody, are in fact, part of the reason that has allowed Radical-Islam to grow so much, to a point in which it is quickly devouring Europe, and if we (if YOU) don’t do something about it, it will quickly consume our whole world.
But isn’t helping everybody a remarkable thing? Isn’t helping everybody what we all should strive for?
There are two answers to this. YES and NO.
YES. Ideally, I personally would love to see a world where everybody loves everybody. A world where despite all of our differences, be it religious, gender, financial, sexual, health status, political, nationality, you name it, we can all at the end of the day agree to disagree. A world where we can all have civil discussions regarding our differences, so we can pursue the truth and make this world a better place. I dream with doing that, I dream with having civilized discussions with people I disagree with, and at night, when the discussion is over we could join one another in our homes to have dinner with our different families, rejoicing in our differences instead of killing each other because of them. We should always know that despite all of our differences, love and tolerance are the utterly most important values in our world.
The other part of the answer is NO.
How can we help those who want to harm us? How can we tolerate those who are against tolerance? How can we protect those who kill cartoonists just because they feel threatened by their opinions?
Imagine defending the person who literally wants to eliminate you from the face of the earth just for who you are.
You don’t really have to imagine it. This is what happens time and again with ultra-liberalists and left-wingers. They defend the gypsy, they defend the women, and they defend the homosexual.
But ridiculously enough they also defend he who doesn’t tolerate any other faith other than his, they defend those who think women are inferior, they defend those who are willing to eliminate anyone who does not think like them, they defend those who publicly hang gay people, they defend those who want to kill them. The liberal’s biggest threat is the terrorist, yet the terrorist’s best ally is the liberal.
When are liberals going to wake up and realize that they are committing suicide?
When are they going to realize that they are defending those who hate tolerance, and those who practice the very opposite of it?
Radical-Islam (not radicals and not Islam in general, but Radical-Islam) is the extreme opposite of everything liberals believe in, yet, these people defend them!
-I cannot emphasize hard enough that I know as a fact that not all Muslims are evil that not all Palestinians are evil. I don’t think all of them are, not even close.-
I just saw a seven second video at “The Jewish Standard” Facebook page in which some protesters at the anti-terror rally in Paris can be seen holding Palestinian flags and others holding Israeli flags and they hug each other, they decided to leave their political differences behind and they chose to connect as human beings. This is my dream; this is the way it’s supposed to be! (Watch video).
You see, right-wingers (In Israeli Politics) also want the type of world I was talking about. They also want to live side by side in harmony and tolerance with their neighbours. But they see something left-wingers are missing. They also see reality and not only fantasy.
They see that time and again we have trusted people only for them to come and slaughter us. They see that time and again Israel has tried to make peace and give up land only to be killed from that same land they gave away for peace; that is the ultimate irony!
As philosopher George Santayana once said “The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again.”
Or as Albert Einstein also very well put it, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
George Santayana and Albert Einstein understood this. Naftali Bennett, Benjamin Netanyahu, Moshe Feiglin, Stephen Harper, Ayelet Shaked, Bill Maher, Caroline Glick, Mitt Romney, and many more across the globe already understand this.
When is the other side going to get it?
When are people like Tzipi Livni, Isaac Herzog, Jon Stewart, Ben Affleck, and so many more like them going to get it? When will these beautiful people with huge hearts who are only trying to do their best to help the world, going to understand that even if they don’t want to accept it, their strategy doesn’t work and it is in fact counterproductive to their own goals? When are you going to understand this? (I was going to include President Barack Obama in this list, but I personally think that Mr. Obama’s reasons for doing what he does are very different to those of the rest of the people I listed. But that is a topic to talk about in another article).
Liberals of the world: I invite you to remember our history, your history.
I invite you to put your huge heart (that inspired you in the first place to become politically active) to work for the cause that you really want and not against it. I invite you to reflect on how you are becoming part of the problem you so much despise, although you don’t intent to do so. I invite you not to side with someone just because they appear to be the weaker side and you felt bad for them, but to side with someone because their values are the most similar to your own and not the complete opposite.
Finally, I invite you to continue this conversation.

Not only I don’t claim to know everything, but I know I am far from it and I know I (or nobody else in this world) will ever have all the answers.
We all hold a certain piece that is missing in order to complete the puzzle of our universe.
Let’s complete the puzzle by the means of civil communication. Let’s start completing it by talking and by discussing the facts instead of by foolishly trying to justify the murder of innocent people who just went to buy Kosher food for their families before Shabbat or of people who through their cartoons were trying to show us the challenges our society faces.
Let’s complete this puzzle by accepting that only G-d holds the ultimate truth and that it is only possible for us to get closer to that truth if we work together.
May the souls of the victims of the recent terror attacks find rest alongside our creator. May their families be able to find comfort. May the wounded have a quick and smooth recovery.
And may liberals of the world soon wake up and realize that we are dealing with a cancer. May they realize that a cancer can’t be cured by giving equal love to every single cell no mattering how hard they wish this would be the case. May liberals realize that a cancer can only be cured by eliminating the cancerous cells before they eliminate the whole body, including those cells who refused to fight and insisted on labeling all cells as equal. If nothing is done soon, those cells will also be eliminated, without mattering how much inside their hearts they were wishing for peace.
