Lipstick and Mustache: First Details on the 2015 Tel Aviv Gay Pride

Tel Aviv Loves All Genders

New details on the Tel Aviv Pride Parade are coming in as the official parade logo was exposed under the slogan “Tel Aviv Loves All Genders.” As the parade will be dedicated this year to the transgender community, the logo is a signature of lips, but the bottom lip is colored with pink lipstick, and the upper lip is a blue mustache. The two combined form the transgender flag.

Earlier this week Tel Aviv-Yafo filmed the official promo of the parade, starring transgender personalities Tal Shantzer and Lia Bar-Lev. “This year we’re in the center and it’s exciting, significant, and moving,” said Tal Shantzer. “It gives a sense that things are finally happening, even if very slowly, but we’re moving forward. I feel so much pride to be part of a community that contains so much courage and strength and stands up to life’s challenges.”

Rumored to perform this year is last year’s Eurovision winner Conchita Wrust, whose win sparked a conversation on gender identity around the world.

“We are happy that at this stage there’s already so much interest in the 2015 pride events and we promise this will be a pride event that will be talked about long after it’s over” a Tel Aviv Municipality spokesperson said in a comment to Israeli website Mako. “So far we can’t give more details on Conchita’s arrival in Israel. A formal announcement on all the details of the Tel Aviv Pride Parade and events will be released soon.”
