‘May the Lord Bless You and Watch Over You’

“May the Lord Bless You and Watch Over You”

Torah Portion- Naso ( Numbers 4:21 to 7:89)

“May the Lord bless you and watch over you;

May God shine his countenance upon you

And be gracious to you and grant you peace.”

The Divine blessing is given through the ages

By priests, parents and others in the name of God.

The sanctity of blessing is derived

By purity of conscience in transmission

Set in the value of fidelity,

Faithfulness and loyalty of principle,

By which the gift of blessing can be given

In the name of the Divine to each person,

Who then receives it, in light of its sanctity.

What responsibility and privilege,

Thus, is granted to humans in the name of God!
