Mistakes that help
The New York Times reported that Israel miscalculated when they assassinated Iran’s generals in Syria. Israel didn’t think that Iran would attack so harshly.
Iran also miscalculated. They didn’t realize that their attack would shift public opinion away from Iran and in favor of Israel.
It’s human to err. Yet errors, like everything else that happens in our world, are orchestrated by Divine providence.
Thus these errors have led to a tremendous improvement in Israel’s position, and reportedly Israel has used this newfound leverage to make a deal with the US, that in exchange for not hitting hard inside Iran, Israel will go into Rafah to finish off Hamas.
G-d, Who is our Rock and our Protector, controls everything. So that even though He wants us to make our own efforts, by acquiring sophisticated weaponry, mobilizing when necessary, and using diplomatic finesse with our allies, nevertheless the important approach is to realize that G-d’s blessing is what makes our efforts successful.
And with that approach, our first priority is to determine what G-d wants, which is to hold on to the land that He gave us, and to defend it strongly. Then, when we talk to our allies, they see that we are strong in our convictions, and they help us.
May this Passover reinforce our belief that, just as G-d protected us and freed us from Egypt many years ago, now too He will protect us, and He will soon redeem us, and the world will become a dwelling place for G-d, as all nations acknowledge His dominion and, as the prophet states: “The world will be filled with knowledge of G-d, just as the waters cover the sea.”
May it happen very soon.
