Today is the first dawn in Japan during Trump’s second term presidency. Due to time differences, Japan is one day ahead of the USA. Yesterday, on November 6, when I received the US election result, it was 14:30. However, it was still midnight on November 5 in the US. That is why today is the first sunrise in Japan during Trump’s second term presidency.

First, let me congratulate the 47th US President, Mr. Donald Trump, before going deeper into the change he may bring during his four years of presidency.

Mr. President, welcome back, and congratulations.

The world sees a new day today, filled with hope for peace because of Trump’s re-election. Most peace-loving people are happy and celebrated yesterday like a “Victory Day” worldwide. Trump’s victory is not only for the US but also globally.

In Japan, many went to the shrines and thanked their Shinto gods for Trump’s victory. In my birthplace, the Chittagong Hill Tracts, many Indigenous people went to churches and pagodas to offer their thanks for re-electing Trump. Thousands of Indians went to temples to thank their Hindu gods.

Such a display of gratitude has never occurred for any other elected US president. It happened because they love Trump. More than that, the world needs Trump. People were concerned about the future. As the sun rises here in Japan, it seems to illuminate a new dawn, not just for one nation but for a global hope that had been slipping beneath dark horizons.

The world was on the brink of World War 3, and people were beginning to lose hope for peaceful lives due to some Western policies, particularly those that led to military interventions and geopolitical tensions. Of course, Trump’s main agenda is “Make America Great Again,” which means “America First.”

No doubt, he will first focus on America. He will likely finish the border wall, which he could not complete during his previous presidency. He may also deport illegal immigrants and cancel visas for radical Islamist supporters like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis.

As a result, the support for these Iranian proxies may stop in the US, ensuring a complete Israeli victory in the ongoing war. If Iran does not stop there, then the entire Iranian regime may face change.

On the other hand, the strained relationship between the US and India will likely recover. During Biden’s administration, the two nations had many diplomatic disagreements. Afghanistan and, recently, Bangladesh were the two main issues among these strained relationships.

The Biden administration left behind billions worth of military equipment in Afghanistan without consulting India, creating a massive threat. Some Indian diplomats compared it to “a friend reserving poisonous snakes in a friend’s bamboo grove from being distinct.”

Additionally, due to Biden’s policies in Bangladesh, minorities face daily persecution from extreme Islamists. Indigenous oppression tremendously increased in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, and the attacks on Hindus crossed all previous records.

On the day of Trump’s victory, Hindus were attacked in Hajaribag in the Chittagong, directly attacked by the Bangladeshi military. Many were dead, and hundreds are still fighting for their lives in hospitals.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh are neighbors of India. Whenever there is unrest in these neighboring countries, India faces heightened Islamist threats. Trump’s re-election definitely will bring solutions to these issues, returning stability to the region.

Besides, Trump and Modi have a strong personal relationship. Sometimes, personal friendships bring about the most significant diplomatic shifts. In that sense, we may soon see strengthened ties between India and the US.

True leadership, after all, transcends borders. It speaks to the human yearning for unity, harmony across differences, and the peace that only real courage can bring. Trump’s leadership might just bridge the gap left open in recent years.

At the same time, the Ukraine war is likely to end. Lives may no longer be lost there. With Trump’s support, Modi and Netanyahu will most likely build a bridge between Ukraine and Russia. It may take time, but it will take place.

What about North Korea?

The world will not forget the moment Trump set foot on North Korean soil at the invitation of Kim Jong Un. Trump is not only a politician but also a good person who knows the value of friendship and trust. Some people say that history moves in cycles. If that is the case, perhaps this second term is a chance for the world to revisit past conflicts and strive for a new equilibrium.

It is important to mention his friendships with Japanese Prime Minister Abe, Indian Prime Minister Modi, Russian President Putin, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un.

Donald Trump also has a great friendship with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Honestly, I have never seen such friendships with any other living US president.

Such alliances, founded on trust and mutual respect, are rare in world politics. It is true that sometimes, a personal touch can achieve what decades of formal diplomacy cannot.

I am confident that the world will be better than it was over the past four years. Let us hope Israel will soon be free from terrorist attacks, the Ukraine war will end, and people will be free from fears of World War 3.

May the world see better days. May Trump’s legacy improve the world and show a way to live in harmony in the coming days.
