Enough is Enough: Standing Up for Israel in Amsterdam

Today, in the very heart of the Netherlands, at Dam Square in Amsterdam, we gather under a powerful banner: “Enough is Enough. Stop the Hate.”

This slogan was not chosen lightly. Across Europe, and particularly on university campuses, we are witnessing an alarming surge in hatred — open, shameless, gut-wrenching hatred. It is sickening to see how quickly extremism, antisemitism, and blind hostility have crept back into our streets and institutions.

That is why Time To Stand Up For Israel knew action has to be taken. We can no longer remain silent while evil gains ground around us. Organizing today’s rally was not just necessary — it is urgent. We have to speak out, loudly and clearly, for Israel, for civilization, for decency.

Recent events have laid bare the horrifying reality we face. After the Maccabi Tel Aviv – Ajax match, we witnessed what can only be described as a modern-day Jew hunt. Polarization in Western societies is deepening, driven by hatred that is spreading like a virus — and sadly, it is not only from one side. I say this with a heavy heart: even the most peaceful among us, even Israelis who strive for coexistence, find it impossible to continue loving their enemies after the horrific, devastating massacres they have endured.

Today, standing together at Dam Square, we sent a message to the world: We support Israel. We stand with the only democracy in the Middle East. We stand with those who choose civilization over barbarism.

However, organizing the rally was not without its painful dilemmas. One of our respected speakers — a man who has long fought bravely for Israel — faced public scrutiny after past posts on social media resurfaced. His words about Islam were harsh. In my view, they were also true. But harsh truths, when written in anger, can become weapons for those who seek to discredit our cause.

We were less than 24 hours away from the rally. The pressure was immense. Should we allow him to speak, knowing the press would seize upon his words and portray us as hatemongers, undermining everything we stood for? Or should we ask him to step down, sacrificing a valued voice for the greater good?

I spoke with him personally. He assured me his speech would be one of peace, a story of reconciliation. I believe him. But written words live on forever; spoken ones often vanish into the air. Ultimately, with immense sadness, we agreed: he would not speak. He felt betrayed, and I understand that feeling deeply. Yet when hatred threatens to overwhelm the message of peace, a line must be drawn.

Enough is enough. Stop the hate.

I sincerely hope — and believe — that our former speaker will continue his excellent work for Israel. In my heart, I share his frustration and his righteous anger. But in my mind, I know that if we are to prevail, we must carry our message with dignity, strength, and wisdom.

Today, from Dam Square, we shout to the world: Israel will not stand alone. We will not be silenced.

Am Yisrael Chai.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
