Not Mossad Nor Pam Bondi Created Epstein—We Did
Israel-haters have blamed the Jewish state for everything from 9/11 to the creation of remote-controlled sharks used to attack Egyptian swimmers. Their latest piece of absurd finger-pointing concerns how the Mossad utilized Jeffrey Epstein for their nefarious purposes.
Yet aside from those lunatic conspiracy theorists who see a Jew behind every evil in the United States and elsewhere, there are those expressing anger and disbelief at US Attorney General Pam Bondi for having begun her tenure only months ago and raring to go on the Jeffery Epstein case, and now strongly resent seeing her failing to deliver. Whatever is going on at the Justice Department concerning client lists that may or may not now exist, and apart from how the uber-elites in government, business, entertainment, industry, and finance might or might not be getting a pass because they’re too powerful to fail without crashing the system, there’s a truly massive group who are indisputably culpable for aiding and abetting what occurred on Little St. James Island. And that would be us.
Isn’t it about time we all accepted some responsibility for the Epstein debacle? We’re the people who for decades watched—and greenlighted—the public ogling of minors going mainstream and then cutting edge. Ten Year-old Brooke Shields, for example, posed nude in Playboy Magazine’s Sugar and Spice Edition in 1975. They said it was chic then; they’re still repeating that now. Indeed, young girls have been salaciously plastered all over magazines, films, billboards and every other media for as long as most reading this have been alive.
And it’s not like we haven’t been horrifically and repeatedly advised as to where all this has to end. Ten years ago the gutsy Monterey Herald, newspaper of record where the crime took place, published my scalding commentary concerning the 8 year-old, Maddy Middleton, who was raped, murdered and tossed in a trash dumpster in Santa Cruz, California. The very next day after Maddy’s murder 14 year-old model Sophia Mechetner’s photo was splashed over thousands of media outlets; she was on the catwalk wearing a see-through, hardly there at all dress that produced leers from one end of the planet to the other. Nobody with a functioning brain has any trouble at all connecting those embarrassingly obvious interrelations.
So unfortunately justice may never be served in the Epstein affair, not in a nation that is obsessed with little girls while feigning shock and horror at upscale, superrich, untouchable pedophilia rings. Our attorney general’s seemingly inexplicable reluctance to move forward expeditiously could be owing to a real quandary. What if a good portion of the country’s high-ranking political leaders are involved, or a sizeable number of Fortune 500 movers and shakers? And what happens to the great issues currently being tackled—energy, inflation, housing, trade and tariffs, border control, etc.—if those crucial to solving those problems are destroyed or imprisoned as the country puts this above everything else?
Pam Bondi wouldn’t be the first powerful leader having been constrained to bend to history and bare knuckle facts on the ground. Sometimes nations have even smilingly welcomed Nazi rocketeers who bombed London with V-2s, like Wernher Von Braun, when they needed the right chief for their space programs. And if President Trump, her boss, has been taken off-guard by the potential depth and breadth of high-ranking pedophiles in both parties and both donor classes, he can’t be faulted too harshly for opting not to burn the government and economy down in favor of jailing them. It may be a tough call that only he and a few others are informed enough to make.
Our entire culture, in any event, has been openly salivating over underage children for decades. It should hardly surprise should our leaders be now an entrenched part of the problem they’re being asked to address. Dragging the Mossad into this national embarrassment makes as much sense as blaming the Knights of Columbus or the Elks Club.
Jeffrey Epstein didn’t just pop up out of nowhere; America created him. So who to prosecute to rectify that if it isn’t the hundreds of millions of us who went along with his creation, step by step, year by year, outrage after outrage?
