IT GETS UNDER MY SKIN!

Media coverage, since 06:30 hours on October 7th, 2023 has been thorough. As expected, the first reports of the atrocities and brutalities committed by Hamas brought outcries of support for the victims. Jews as victims. That works for about 24 to 48 hours.

However, once the IDF organizes itself and begins to defend the people of Israel, the equivocations begin, and the “death tally on both sides” starts. It is tiresome.  Tiresome because the Jews of Israel did not ask for Hamas to come and murder them, their infants, their elderly, their aunts and their uncles, in their homes. The Jews of Israel didn’t send special requests to Hamas, asking for thousands of missiles, rockets, projectiles that cause death and destruction, to land on their rooftops, in their apartments and in their yards.

Such a missile landed in my friend’s yard, in Ashkelon. He told me that if that projectile had hit the roof of his home, it would have destroyed the roof and the room below it.

After some 24 to 48 hours something else begins to happen here, in the US. Media coverage begins to change. Hamas, a group of murderers, are now called “militants”.  They are not militants. The people who make up that terrorist organization are murderers. The members of that terrorist organization have no regard whatsoever for life, not the lives of Jews and not the lives of Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, not the lives of Palestinians living in the West Bank, and not the lives of Jews or Palestinians anywhere and everywhere in the world.

These murderers have declared that it is their express wish to murder all Jews. They have no regard for their Palestinian neighbors, often using the homes and apartments of their Palestinian neighbors to launch missile and rocket attacks against the Jews of Israel. Of late, Hamas with the help of Iran, launched exploding drones into Israel to murder Jews who live in Israel.

The extent of the atrocities committed by Hamas murderers cannot yet be fully comprehended, but NPR, CNN, MSNBC and other networks do not call the murderers just that. They do not call them terrorists. They call them militants.

I was at work here in the US on September 11th, 2001. Terrorists hijacked airplanes with regular passengers on board. Terrorists flew two of those airplanes into the World Trade Towers. Terrorists flew one of those airplanes into the Pentagon. Had it not been for the courage of the passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 that airplane was likely going to crash into the White House. Instead the passengers forced United Airlines Flight 93 to crash into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

I can bet you that after that horrific attack against the United States, there was not a single person who called those terrorists “militants”. They were terrorists. Osama bin Laden was a terrorist. ISIS was and is an organization made up of murdering terrorists.

Hamas is an organization, either like or worse than ISIS: murdering terrorists make up its membership. Plain and simple. We must impress that upon the media. News media need to call murderers and terrorists exactly what they are.

Personally, while I can feel a great deal of empathy for the Palestinian Arabs, I feel nothing but revulsion for Hamas.
