An Open Letter to Olivia Rodrigo:
You are right. Conditions in Gaza are horrific and completely unacceptable.
Hamas terrorists use it to launch rockets at Israel. They used it to launch a genocidal invasion. They used it to kidnap 250 Israeli hostages. They cheered as naked, murdered Shani Louk was paraded through the streets like a hunting trophy.
Horrific and completely unacceptable.
They still hold hostages in horrific and unacceptable conditions; chaining, starving and torturing them. They murdered Israeli hostages in tunnels and a hospital. Horrific and completely unacceptable. They use Palestinian children as human shields. They hide in hospitals and schools. They steal food and other humanitarian aid. They masquerade as journalists and medics. They ban a free press and subvert reporters to amplify the most poisonous propaganda on earth.
Horrific and completely unacceptable.
They kill dissidents. They raise children to kill Israelis. They kill Israelis. They stage disaster photos. They deceive you with made-up mortality figures. They started a war they could end by releasing the hostages, but choose not to. They cosplay a famine and a genocide to recruit well-meaning people like you to be their ambassadors.
Horrific and completely unacceptable.
So you are right, for the wrong reasons.
And that’s horrific and completely unacceptable.
