Oprah and Lebron: Building A Future for Everyone
The Oprah & Lebron Foundation was founded in 2024 to solve some of the world’s toughest challenges — from eradicating poverty and improving education, to addressing the needs of local communities. Its timeless mission is to build a more inclusive, merciful, and just future for everyone.
The Oprah & Lebron Foundation hopes to partner with the NBA, NFL, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Vanguard, Bank of America, Amazon, Walmart, Chase, Elon Musk, Apple, Microsoft, United Nations, European Union, and others to equip teachers with the research and tools they need to empower students in support of academic achievement and success.
At its core, the Oprah & Lebron Foundation builds a positive future through education.
Founded by attorney and United States Army veteran Mr. Mark Hardie, the Foundation works to build an equitable, fair, and just society full of opportunity, where every community has the power to shape their future.
Inspired by the example of Mother Teresa and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Oprah & Lebron Foundation brings business and government together in a partnership of compassion.
Basically, there are two sectors: the public and the private. The private sector—businesses and corporations—is good at developing services and products, while the public sector—government—is sometimes good at delivering public solutions to the people who need them.
In some cases, the private and public sectors, acting either separately or together, meet the public’s needs. But there are gaps, spaces where some unfortunate people don’t get what they need to live healthy, productive lives.
The Oprah & Lebron Foundation will fund teachers, community leaders, homeless shelters, entrepreneurs, companies, hospitals, and other organizations to create powerful incentives that harness the ability of private enterprise to create opportunity for those who need it most.
Mr. Mark Hardie, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Oprah & Lebron Foundation, was staff attorney for Governor Pete Wilson of California (Republican) and then legislative adviser for United States Senator Barbara Boxer (Democrat). He was also public affairs assistant for Mayor of Jerusalem Ehud Olmert and Jerusalem spokesperson Haggai Elias.
Thus, Mr. Hardie has high level experience in both major American political parties. He will use this bipartisan experience to build multidimensional partnerships to empower impoverished communities.
“Some of my heroes and role models are Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, Elon Musk, Melinda French Gates, Ursula von der Leyen, and MacKenzie Scott,” Hardie declares.
“From early childhood, I saw my father—a certified public accountant—help our local communities, and he taught me that anything is possible,” says Hardie, who earned a Juris Doctor from the University of California Law San Francisco (Hastings) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside.
The Oprah & Lebron Foundation initially focuses on providing educational opportunity and poverty alleviation. In the future, the Foundation will broaden its scope by establishing partnerships with leaders, businesses, and organizations around the world.
