Our Battle Against Terror: The World’s Betrayal

Israel is currently engaged in a war—not one for territorial conquest, but a war against terror. This is not a new type of conflict. We all remember the global War on Terror, declared by U.S. President George W. Bush after the horrific September 11, 2001 attacks. In the wake of that tragedy, Bush made a powerful statement:

The attack took place on American soil, but it was an attack on the heart and soul of the civilized world. And the world has come together to fight a new and different war, the first, and we hope the only one, of the 21st century. A war against all those who seek to export terror, and a war against those governments that support or shelter them.”

—President George W. Bush, 10/11/01

The War On Terror:
The War on Terror raged on for 20 years. What did we achieve? The Taliban is back in control of Afghanistan, and over 432,000 civilians have died. This war was supposed to ensure that terror never again ravaged the world. Over 196 countries supported the financial battle against terror, and 42 nations sent forces as part of the ISAF coalition. The world united in this fight, believing we could eradicate the scourge of terrorism.

The biggest massacre of Israelis after the Holocaust:
October 7th 2023 was the breaking point, when Israel was brutally attacked by a savage and ruthless group of terrorists during the Jewish holidays of Simchat Torah and Shemini Atzeret. The scale of this massacre was unlike anything Israel had seen since the Holocaust. Thousands of rockets rained down on Israeli soil, and only the Iron Dome, an Israeli invention, prevented a disaster on the scale of 9/11. Israel’s response? A war on terror. Enough was enough. They launched Operation Swords of Iron.

The world in shock:
During the first week of this war the world was in shock about the brutality of the vicious terror attack of October 7th. By the second week, the first anti-Israel statements began to surface. Critics called the war cruel and unnecessary, pointing to civilian casualties—despite the fact that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), unlike any other army, consistently warns civilians to evacuate before strikes. Yet, rather than rallying around Israel, the global community chose to stand with the terror-supporting factions that call themselves “Palestinians.” These are the same individuals who participated in the October 7th massacre, slaughtering, looting, and taking Israeli hostages. Not a single civilian lifted a finger to help those hostages.

The world showed her true colors:
The double standards, the opportunism, and the deep-seated Israel hatred in many parts of the world are undeniable. When the U.S. led the War on Terror, the world stood with them. But now, when Israel fights its own battle against terror, we abandon them. Not only that, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has gone so far as to condemn Israel, issuing arrest warrants for the Prime Minister and other Israeli leaders. The world has lost its mind. The inhumane treatment of Israel, the disregard for the families of the fallen and the hostages, is appalling.
Yet, some countries—like Ukraine—have the audacity to request Israel’s help, asking for Iron Dome technology, medical expertise, and other forms of assistance that the Jewish state has generously provided to the world. How dare they? How dare they stand with terror, betray the only Jewish state, support terror, and still expect to profit from Israel’s contributions?

The world is morally bankrupt:
The hypocrisy and opportunism are staggering. The world has become a sad and morally bankrupt place. In any war between the savages and the civilized, we must stand with the civilized. We must stand with Israel.
