Your Excellency Prime Minister Naftali Bennett:
I have a series of matters and proposals for you, which I hope you will integrate into your government’s vision and policies. Although it is rare to receive replies to letters like this one, I hope you will respond to this letter. The themes of this letter are peace, mercy, and love.
Mr. Prime Minister, I encourage you to follow in the footsteps of human rights activists such as Peace Pilgrim, Martin Luther King, boxer Muhammad Ali, Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, Noura Erakat, and Mariam Barghouti. These prophets of peace represent the power of grace, mercy, hope, kindness, and divine mercy.
Both Israelis and Palestinians need a champion of peace to rise up as a messenger of the power of unconditional love. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not about land, borders, sovereignty, and nationalism; rather, it is about nations who must learn to trust and love one another.
Militant forces such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad have attacked Israel with high tech rockets and arson balloons. In our north, Hezbollah has rained down missiles upon Israeli cities and towns. Israel has responded to these bloody attacks with increased military intelligence and airstrikes. These high intensity phenomena are a dangerous ‘war of thrones’ dripping with fear, ruthlessness, vengeance, and death.
Mr. Prime Minister, I would like to make two recommendations based upon grace and mercy:
First, I call upon you to meet with Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. This meeting should occur in Southern Israel.
Second, I call upon you to meet with Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah who is the third secretary-general of the militant organization. This meeting should occur in Northern Israel.
The heads of the Mossad, Shin Bet (Shabak), and military intelligence should participate in these high-level summit meetings.
The goals of these breakthrough meetings include creating a new world order for national security, improving future intelligence gathering and security cooperation, and establishing a powerful new framework for regional peace and stability.
We must also bring home all Israeli hostages and the remains to all Israeli soldiers who are held in enemy territory. Also, we must demand that both Hamas and Hezbollah recognize the state of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state with Jerusalem as its eternal capital. Moreover, both Hezbollah and Hamas must agree to cease all violence, militarism, and terrorism. Finally, both Hamas and Hezbollah must break all ties with Iran.
To bring about lasting peace for our Jewish people, it is important for us to dialogue with our enemies and build relationships based on mutual respect, mutual understanding, and mutual recognition.
Just as former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Ehud Barak each met with Yasser Arafat, it is time for our current prime minister to break the iron cage of hatred, distrust, warfare, and bloodshed.
Mr. Prime Minister, I am a former soldier in both the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the United States Army. I have fought on the frontlines of the global war on terrorism. In addition, I am a human rights attorney who graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law which is the same law school where US Vice President Kamala Harris graduated. I am both a warrior and a human rights scholar.
Let us take these bold and radical actions to love our enemies and bless those who curse us. True peace, which has died, will be resurrected as divine grace. Let the sons and daughters of the Prophet Abraham build new peaceful relationships based on unconditional love, strategic cooperation, and lasting peace—creating a New Middle East.
Respectfully, Barack O. Mandela, Esq.
Mr. Barack Mandela launched this “Peace Prophet Project” in August 2021 to promote world peace, mercy, inclusion, grace, human rights, and fundamental fairness. This international peace mission was inspired by American peace activist, “Peace Pilgrim” who passed away in 1981.
