Rest in peace to the Republican party

Today the ashes of the Republican Party were buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Not far from the gravesite of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.

A brave cop murdered on January 6, 2021 by the GOP’s minions during the Trump insurrection.

I watched as the Grand Old Party’s 12″ rectangular oak coffin was lowered six feet into the sacred soil of Arlington.

A coffin filled with the aches of:

Hatred, bigotry and anti-Semitism;

Lies, half-truths and conspiracies;

Disloyalty, authoritarianism and avarice;

Stupidity, malfeasance and negligence.

Corrupt, cowardly clowns;

Dishonest, disreputable dullards;

Loathsome fascistic homophobes;

Loud-mouthed, lying, lowlives;

I remembered that it was once:

The party of Lincoln; now the Trump/Greene Party;

The anti-slavery party; now the party of mental slaves;

The party of proud men; now the party of Proud Boys;

The party of  loyal Americans; now turned into the anti-democracy party;

The party of the fiscally conservative; now the party of the morally bankrupt;

The party wrapped in the stars and stripes; now its coffin is draped with the Confederate flag;

The party of the elephant and but now the ashes are of weasel, hyena and skunk;

A party that smelled like: wealth, like the Ivy League, like ticker tape, like country clubs and  pearl necklaces but now its ashes emanate sulfurous, gaseous odors of  swamps and cesspits;

A party of morals and not of  trashy, thin-skinned toads;

A party of fair play and not of cretinous bullies;

A party of the brave and not sniveling, spineless slugs.

The party that loved cops to the party of cop killers.

But as all students of mythology know, one day a new Republican party, just like the phoenix, will be reborn and obtain a new life by arising from the ashes buried six feet in the sacred soil of Arlington Cemetery.
