Sarah Lives as Rebecca Kept Her Flame Alive – Torah Portion for Chayei Sarah

The fate of Isaac as thought by Sarah,

Had been sealed by Abraham’s readiness

To sacrifice their beloved, only son.

His presumed demise was too much to bear.

Post traumatic stress inhabited her,

Before the true outcome could be revealed,

Removed the breath of her life purpose.

Her time in its physical form expired.

Although her life continued in Isaac,

As Rebecca maintained her legacy

With candles lasting from week to week,

Illuminating the tent of Isaac.

For generations to come through Jacob,

Thus, Israel, if it abides by its mission,

Sarah lives on, as her light grows stronger.
