Shame On You!

The Western media should be ashamed of themselves.

For two years they have been mouthing accusations against Israel generated by Hamas’s propaganda machine as though the information they were providing was trustworthy.

Israel was accused of conducting genocide against the Palestinian people even though figures show that Gaza’s population grew by 22,771 last year, representing a 2.84% annual change.

The United Nations unashamedly quoted Inger Ashing, the Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children International, who stated that “As we speak children in Gaza are systematically being starved to death. The Gaza famine is a deliberate policy – engineered and manmade – in which Israel is using starvation as a method of war in its starkest terms.”

The Guardian published an article carrying the headline “The Mathematics of Starvation” while the BBC reported only two months ago: “How Israel’s policies created famine in Gaza”.

The only people being deliberately starved to death in Gaza were in fact those miserable Israeli hostages, whom the media conspicuously chose to ignore.

Avitan Or, who was kidnapped and taken into Gaza, and who has just been released from captivity, lost 40% of his body weight while being held hostage.

The BBC announced today that “It emerged … that much of it (a multi-layered subterranean industrial and military complex) was concealed under Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and, in the case of a tunnel containing a Hamas data centre, the headquarters of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza City.”

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation Kan already reported that two years ago on the 28th October 2023, but the Western media chose to ignore it.

Given the way this war has been reported, it is not surprising that protesters have taken to the streets accusing Israel of genocide, attacking hospitals and shelling schools.

The media must accept responsibility for having helped fuel both a hatred of Israel and growing antisemitism among a gullible public, who wrongly believed that they could rely on them to provide balanced reporting of a war that only started when over a thousand terrorists infiltrated Israel by land, sea and air, attacked kibbutzim, towns and the Nova Peace Festival site murdering more than 1,400 people in the most barbaric way, wounding more than 5,500 others and taking 251 men, women and children hostage into the Gaza Strip.
