Sharaka – A ray of hope

Round table hosted by the Jewish Federation of Sacramento, California, November 2021
Round table with a Sharaka delegation, hosted by the Jewish Federation of Sacramento, California, November 11th 2021

A Sharaka delegation visited California this month. Sharaka is an organization of young leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrein, Morocco and Israel. If was founded following the Abraham Accords in 2020 to foster cooperation between Israel and the Arab world (“sharaka” means “partnership” in Arabic). On November 11th 2021 they were hosted by the Jewish Federation of Sacramento, California, for a round table. The round table can be watched in the following video, titled “How the Abraham Accords are changing the face of the Middle East” and posted in YouTube:

The panelists were (from left to right): Omar Al Busaidy (United Arab Emirates), Chama Mechtaly (Morocco), Hayvi Bouzo (Syria), Dan Feferman (Israeli Jew), Lorena Khateeb (Israeli Arab) and Fatema Al Harbi (Bahrein).

The video is worth watching in its entirety.
