Stop the Fake ‘Islamophobia’
It’s ever so predictable. As soon as a major terrorist attack is launched by a radical Islamist against a Jewish institution or individuals, the second thing out of many hand-wringing Democratic government officials is, “We hope this doesn’t lead to Islamophobia.” If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard this nonsense, I’d be able to afford a Ford Bronco.
And again, that’s similar to what we heard from Muslim-American Mayor Mo Baydoun of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, which is not far from Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township, the site of the latest terrorist attack against Jews, where there would’ve been multiple casualties if not for the actions of quick-thinking security guards.
Here’s what Mo said: “This tragedy comes at a time when communities everywhere are confronting rising hate and senseless violence.” He also added “everyone deserves to worship in peace and we must unequivocally condemn any attack on a house of worship or the people within it.” yada yada yada. Nowhere does he utter the word “Jew” or “Jewish”. One might have thought it was a mosque that was under attack.
No Mo, it’s specifically Jewish institutions that are encountering this rising hate and it’s coming almost exclusively from members of your faith: Muslims who have been radicalized. You should be acknowledging and owning this problem because these are your people. A more apt response would have been something like: “I am very appalled that some Muslims believe we should be targeting Jews when our mutual enemies are the same: radical Islamists. I call upon all imams and religious leaders to call out those among us who are sowing hate in our beloved, adopted country.”
I know. That is delusional thinking.
Expect to hear more from those on the left calling for restraint against Muslims. As if the attack was against the Muslim and not the Jewish community.
The actual numbers paint a much different picture than what Muslims and Progressives would have you believe. While CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) likes to contend that there were a record high number of anti-Muslim incidents, claiming 8,683 in 2025, they also admit that just 33 of them were recorded incidents targetting Muslim institutions. Now let’s take a closer look at the numbers from the alarmist CAIR. Of the more than 8,000 complaints only 607 (7.5% of total) were specifically classified as hate crimes or physical incidents. A deeper dive into what constitutes a complaint is how CAIR broke down that high number: 1,637 involved immigration and asylum cases (20% of total), 1,201 involved employment discrimination, and the rest were education discrimination, and hate crimes and “incidents”, rather fuzzy categories and not physically threatening.
Looking at a less biased source, the FBI Crime Data reports 1,987 anti-Jewish hate crimes (Hate Crime Statistics – FBI) in 2024 alone (the last year that figures were released) including 906 bomb threats and 1,702 targeted incidents against Jewish Institutions. Let’s compare that to anti-Muslim hate crime: Just 256 cases. While full-year U.S. data is still being compiled for 2025 the American Jewish Committee (American Jewish Committee – The Global Advocacy Organization for …) described 2025 as “one of the most violent years against American Jews in recent history. The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) reports a much higher number: more than 9,300 instances of antisemitism in 2024, the highest number since records of those incidents began in 1979.
What these headline-grabbing stories fail to say is that the latest attacks against Jews are occurring at a time when the United States and Israel are together fighting against the biggest source of terrorism in the world: Iran. If Americans were truly patriotic they would be cheering on Israel and the Jewish people for having the courage to confront the biggest enemy of Western civilization. The Israel Defense Forces are joining together with the U.S. Armed Forces while we speak, bravely going after those who seek to destroy American and, yes, Jewish institutions.
If these Muslims and others were truly assimilated and pro-America, they would also be pro-Israel because we are fighting a common enemy: Radical Muslims who also kill more Muslims every day than they do Americans and Israelis. Remember, the latest crime against humanity was the killing of about 30,000 anti-government protestors in Iran this past January. And every day Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups kill those who don’t agree or who are merely suspected of not agreeing with their radical aims. The Africa Center for Strategic Studies reports 150,000 deaths linked to militant Islamic groups in the past decade and the numbers are only going up.
We need to stop with the fake Islamophobia and double down on ridding our country of those who want to destroy us and we can begin by ending this vicious demonization of Israel by our own elected officials and instead point out that Israel is our strongest and best ally in the fight against the enemies of the United States.
