Welcome to my Tech Leaders Interview Series, where I interview impactful leaders and ask them to share tips and techniques that have benefited them, both in their personal and professional lives.

This interview is with Dr. Elad Ofir, Chief Data and Medical Officer & Founder of Insurights

About Dr. Elad:

Dr. Elad is a medical doctor by profession, an entrepreneur by passion, a musician at heart, and a marathon runner in his free time, who truly believes ‘If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it! (William Arthur Ward).

What are your main productivity tips?

  1. Setting goals daily helps me identify the most critical tasks of the day.
  2. Starting the day by ‘eating the frog,’ meaning beginning with the most challenging tasks on my to-do list.
  3. Limiting the distractions by turning off email, news, Slack, and other notifications which do not require immediate attention, helping to concentrate and progress with my tasks.

 What is your favorite drink?

Hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks, orange peels, and white wine.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

By acknowledging the fact that I am stressed or feeling anxiety. Ignoring my feelings or pushing them away does not work. Instead, I face it, accept it and begin to manage it.

Sport is a great stress relief for me. After a CrossFit training or a long run on the beach, I feel like brand new.

Your tips for aspiring entrepreneurs?

As Paulo Coelho said, “Be brave! Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.”

Who in the Tech industry would you like to meet for lunch?

Steve Jobs, Del Harvey, and Travis Kalanick.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

There is no place like home. Israel is my true love, so I would never leave the country for good, but I would spend some time living in the USA or in the ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’ – New Zealand, getting to know new cultures and enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the nature.

What is your favorite book recommendation?

‘Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek.

Why are you in Tech?

Before founding Insurights, I was a Medical Doctor in one of the biggest hospitals in the country, and I was saving people’s lives daily. And it was a dream come true, but I always felt that I could make a more significant impact on people’s lives, and the Tech world gave me that opportunity. I believe one-day Insurights will positively impact the lives of millions.
