Terumah – Of Tabernacle and Mashiach
Why are there so many details given in building the tabernacle? Because the tabernacle is fashioned after the image of man (Mashiach) and to build the tabernacle is to emulate Mashiach in order to receive the indwelling Spirit of God. Any man that has the Spirit of God dwelling upon him is called Israel. “YHVH upon the Tabernacle” in Hebrew is יְהוָה עַל-הַמִּשְׁכָּן, the gematria is 541, exactly that of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל.
The dwelling place of God in the wilderness is called both the Tent of Meeting and the Tabernacle. It is later called the Holy Temple during the Kingdom of Israel, and finally called Mashiach as the ultimate indwelling of God on earth.
The Tent of Meeting | אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד | 156 |
The Tabernacle | הַמִּשְׁכָּן | 415 |
The Holy Temple | בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ | 861 |
Mashiach | מָּשִׁיחַ | 358 |
1790 |
Astonishingly, 1790 is Mashiach spelled out progressively and regressively, as follows:
1790 | מ מש משי משיח משיח שיח יח ח |
This comes to teach us that the concept of God dwelling in man is fulfilled in Mashiach. The Scriptures further reveal that the body of his congregation is also the temple of God and dwelling place of God. Congregation in Hebrew is Kehilah (קְהִלָּה), the gematria is 140, adding to 1790, the sum is 1930, astonishingly, this is exactly the name Yeshua spelled out progressively and regressively, as follows:
1930 | י יש ישו ישוע ישוע שוע וע ע |
This comes to teach us that indeed Yeshua is the Mashiach and together with his Kehilah is where the Spirit of God dwells.
The Tabernacle is designed as a hologram, in that the whole contains the part and the part contains the whole.
Adam Kadmon
In rabbinical tradition, Adam Kadmon (the primordial man) is known as the pure Divine light. Adam Kadmon is the manifestation of God after tzimtzum (contraction) to emanate the world of Atzilut and create the three lower worlds of Beriah, Yetzirah and Asiyah.
This rabbinical depiction of Adam Kadmon is the concept of Mashiach revealed in the Book of John (1:9) as the True Light.
If we are to apply the gematria of the final forms (600 for Mem Sofit and 700 for Nun Sofit) to Adam Kadmon (אָדָם קַדְמוֹן), the revealed gematria becomes 1455, which is exactly the gematria of the four worlds:
emanation | Atzilut | אֲצִילוּת | 537 |
creation | Beriah | בְּרִיאָה | 218 |
formation | Yetzirah | יְצִירָה | 315 |
action | Asiyah | עֲשִׂיָה | 385 |
1455 |
This comes to teach us that Mashiach is the Light of God emanating through the four created worlds, in the form of man known as Adam Kadmon.
The human face has three parts (levels). The 1st level is the forehead, this corresponds to the Holy of Holies; the 2nd level consists of the eyes, the cheeks and the nose, this corresponds to the Holy Place; the 3rd level consists of a mouth which has two lips, this corresponds to the Courtyard.
The Holy of Holies
The Holy of Holies is what’s inside the skull in human anatomy, this is the Seat of Intelligence, the World of Creation (Beriah).
The forehead of man is what conceals the brain, in the same way that the veil conceals the Holy of Holies. The two wings of cherubim resemble the two hemispheres of the brain.
The Right Brain focuses on the visual, and processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous way, looking first at the whole picture rather than the details. This in Kabbalah is called the flash of insight in darkness, the Sefirah of Wisdom, the right side, corresponding to the Tablets in the Ark, which is wisdom, as the Tablets were given as a one-time event representing the general principle of Torah without the details.
The focus of the Left Brain is verbal, processing information in an analytical and sequential way, looking first at the pieces then putting them together to get the whole. This in Kabbalah is called the development of the principle into details, the Sefirah of Understanding, the left side, corresponding to the Manna in the Ark, which were given continuously for 40 years representing the development of life from the seminal moment of impregnation in the analogy of 40 weeks of pregnancy.
The intermediary is the Cerebellum, meaning the “small brain” which is primarily involved with cognitive functions and equilibrium. This in Kabbalah is called the Knowledge (Da’at) that balances Wisdom on the right side with Understanding on the left side, the Fruit of the union which is called the Son, corresponding to the Rod of Aaron in the Ark. The budded rod symbolizes the resurrected Mashiach as the Hebrew for “His rod shall blossom” in Num 17:5 is מַטֵּהוּ יִפְרָח, which has a gematria of 358, the gematria of Mashiach.
The Holy Place
The Holy Place represents the facial features of man, this is the Seat of Emotions, the World of Formation (Yetzirah).
The two eyes of man are the candlestick (menorah), in the same way that the eyes reveal the light of man, so does the candlestick reveal the light of the Holy Place. The right eye is called the Good Eye, symbolizing generosity, corresponding to the Sefirah of Chesed; The left eye is called the Evil Eye, symbolizing stinginess, corresponding to the Sefirah of Gevurah.
The two faces of man are the showbread, and the showbread in Hebrew is called the “bread of the faces” (לֶחֶם הַפָּנִים). The right face corresponds to the Sefirah of Netzach, and the left face corresponds to the Sefirah of Hod.
The nose of man is the altar of incense, corresponding to the Sefirah of Tiferet. Both nose and incense are connected with the smell, and both are located in the central axle. When the altar of incense is brought in to the Holy of Holies, the Sefirah of Tiferet is transformed into the Sefirah of Da’at.
The Courtyard
The courtyard is the Seat of Actions, the World of Action (Asiyah), this is where the animals are slaughtered as sacrifice offerings.
The mouth is the altar of sacrifice, as the primary function of both is to consume meat. This is the Sefirah of Malchut which in Kabbalah is called Speech.
The laver of brass is the philtrum, in the same way the laver sits between the altar of sacrifice and the Holy Place, so does the philtrum sit between the mouth and the nose.
In rabbinical tradition, the philtrum is identified as the site of forgetfulness, i.e. the lack of knowledge, as this is the place the angel touches before a baby was born in order to erase all memories. The philtrum would therefore correspond to the Sefirah of Yesod, which is known as the Lower Knowledge.
The gematria:
Holy of Holies | forehead | מֵצַח | 138 |
Candlestick | eye | עַיִן | 130 |
Altar of Incense | nose | אָף | 81 |
Showbread | faces | פָּנִים | 180 |
Laver | lip (philtrum) | שָׂפָה | 385 |
Altar of Sacrifice | mouth | פֶּה | 85 |
999 |
This is exactly the gematria of the four worlds in their three-letter roots:
Atzilut | אָצַל | 121 |
Beriah | בָּרָא | 203 |
Yetzirah | יָצָר | 300 |
Asiyah | עָשָׂה | 375 |
999 |
Hence the whole contains the part, and the part contains the whole, the holographic design.
As Above, So Below
There are three vessels in the Ark, their gematria add up to 853, which is the mirror image of 358, the gematria of Mashiach (מָּשִׁיחַ), meaning, the Ark represents the concealed Mashiach.
the manna | הַמָן | 95 |
the rod of Aaron | הַמַּטֶּה אַהֲרֹן | 315 |
the tablets | הַלֻּחֹת | 443 |
853 |
In the same way the head is connected to the torso by the neck which has three primary channels, so are the three vessels in the Ark connected to the three vessels in the Holy Place, as follows:
The Esophagus: Manna in the Holy of Holies reflecting the Showbread in the Holy Place. Both are miraculous bread, loving kindness on the right side;
The Trachea: Tablets in the Holy of Holies reflecting the Candlestick in the Holy Place. The lungs are shaped like an upside-down candlestick, with the windpipe as the middle stick. The tablets are typically rendered as two pieces of human heart which are enclosed by the two branches of lungs. In Kabbalistic term, this is called the Spirit (wind in lung) cooling down the heat of the blood in the heart; in the analogy of 2 Corinthians 3:3 this is known as the Spirit of God transforming the tablets of stone into the fleshly tablets of the heart. Transformation requires strength, corresponding to Gevurah on the left side.
The Jugular Vein: The Rod of Aaron in the Holy of Holies reflecting the Altar of Incense in the Holy Place. This continuum represents the harmony of the dichotomy of right and left. The Altar of Incense is brought into the Holy of Holies with blood every year on Yom Kippur.
The shattered tablets of stone represent death, and the Rod of Aaron represents life from death because the dead stick budded. Similarly, Aaron stood between the dead and the living by the power of his incense and the plague was stayed, the death toll was 14,700 besides those that died on the matter of Korah (Num 16:48).
Astonishingly, 14,700 = 10 x 1470, and 1470 is exactly the gematria of the three vessels in the Holy Place:
The Table | הַשֻּׁלְחָן | 393 |
The Candlestick | הַמְּנוֹרָה | 306 |
The Altar of Incense | מִזְבַּח הַקְּטֹרֶת | 771 |
1470 |
13 Sefirot
There are 13 types of materials mentioned for the building of the tabernacle, apart from the precious stones in Ex 25:3-5 which are used for making the garments.
This corresponds to the 10 Sefirot, which is also 11 Sefirot if Da’at is included, or 13 Sefirot if Keter is replaced by the three inner levels: 1) Faith; 2) Pleasure; and 3) Will, according to Kabbalah.
- Gold is Binah (Understanding) on the left side;
- Silver is Chesed (Kindness) on the right side;
- Brass is Gevurah (Might) on the left side;
- Blue is Tiferet (Beauty) in the center;
- Purple is Netzach (Eternality) on the right side;
- Scarlet is Hod (Praise) on the left side;
- Fine Linen is Yesod (Foundation) on the center;
- Goat’s hair is Malchut (Kingdom);
- Ram’s skin dyed red is Ratzon (Will);
- Badger’s skin is Emunah (Faith);
- Shittim wood is Taanug (Pleasure);
- Oil is Chachmah (Wisdom);
- Species is Daat (Knowledge).
To explain:
On the electro-spectrum, the right side is purple and the left side is red.
The color of gold leans toward the red side and the color of silver leans toward the purple right side. Gold represents the most precious metal in the Bible and is the mother of all other metals, similar to Binah is the mother of all the subsequent Sefirot. The color of brass is close to gold therefore also on the left side.
Blue (Tiferet) is the intermediary reconciling purple (Netzach) on the right side and red (Hod) on the left side.
Fine Linen in Hebrew is שֵׁשׁ, which also means “six”, this is Yesod being the 6th Sefirah emanating from mother Binah.
Goat’s skin in Hebrew is עֹרֹת הָעִזִּים, the gematria is 802, the same gematria of David and Bath-Shuva (דָוִיד בַת-שׁוּעַ), both names are variant spellings of David and Bath-Sheva, symbolizing Mashiach and his Bride, it follows that Goat’s hair symbolizes Malchut.
Ram’s skin in Hebrew is עֹרֹת אֵילִם, the gematria is 751, the same gematria as יֵעָשה רְצונֶךָ, meaning: “your will be done” (the Lord’s Prayer). Ram in Hebrew is אַיִל (Ayil), which has the same three letters as Deer אַיָּל (Ayal) that runs to do the will of God as in Yedid Nefesh.
Badger’s skin in Hebrew is עֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים, the exact meaning of the word Techashim (תְּחָשִׁים) is uncertain, and therefore a concealed mystery. The five letters can be rearranged as ת-מָּשִׁיחַ, meaning: the sign (cross) of Mashiach, representing the concealed Mashiach, which can only be known through faith.
Shittim wood in Hebrew is עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים, the gematria is 529, exactly the same gematria as “pleasure” (תַּעֲנוּג). If we fuse the final two letters of Shittim שִׁטִּים into one letter Nun, Shittim wood עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים is then transformed to the tree of Satan עֲצֵי שָׂטָן, which is what attempted the woman in the garden. 529 is the square of 23, which is the gematria of the first woman called Chayah (חַיָּה) prior to her being called Chavah (Eve), hence the Shittim Wood represents both the cause and cure of the fall, with her ultimate return to basking in Divine pleasure.
Oil for the light, and light (in darkness) represents Wisdom in Kabbalah.
“Spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense” (Ex 25:6) in Hebrew is: בְּשָׂמִים לְשֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה, וְלִקְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים, the gematria is 2070, exactly 10 times the gematria of light (אוֹר) which is 207. This is Knowledge (D’aat) which in Kabbalah is considered the Son of the Wisdom.
Let’s now examine the gematria of the 13 types of materials:
1 | Gold | זָהָב | 14 |
2 | Silver | כֶסֶף | 160 |
3 | Brass | נְחֹשֶׁת | 758 |
4 | Blue | תְכֵלֶת | 850 |
5 | Purple | אַרְגָּמָן | 294 |
6 | Scarlet | תוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי | 1266 |
7 | Fine linen | שֵׁשׁ | 600 |
8 | Goat’s hair | עִזִּים | 127 |
9 | Ram’s skin | עֹרֹת אֵילִם | 751 |
10 | Techshim’s skin | עֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים | 1428 |
11 | Shittim wood | עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים | 529 |
12 | Oil | שֶׁמֶן | 390 |
13 | Spices | בְּשָׂמִים | 392 |
7559 |
As discussed above, these 13 types of materials parallel the 13 Sefirot, as follows:
1 | Badger’s skin | Emunah (faith) | אֱמוּנָה | 102 |
2 | Shittim wood | Ta’anug (pleasure) | תַּעֲנוּג | 529 |
3 | Ram’s skin | Ratzon (will) | רָצוֹן | 346 |
4 | Oil | Chachmah (wisdom) | חָכְמָה | 73 |
5 | Gold | Binah (understanding) | בִּינָה | 67 |
6 | Spices | Daat (knowldge) | דַּעַת | 474 |
7 | Silver | Chesed (kindness) | חֶסֶד | 72 |
8 | Brass | Gevurah (might) | גְּבוּרָה | 216 |
9 | Blue | Tiferet (beauty) | תִּפְאֶרֶת | 1081 |
10 | Purple | Netzach (eternity) | נֵצַח | 148 |
11 | Scarlet | Hod (praise) | הוֹד | 15 |
12 | Fine linen | Yesod (foundation) | יְסוֹד | 80 |
13 | Goat’s hair | Malchut (kingdom) | מַלְכוּת | 496 |
3699 |
If we subtract the gematria of the 13 Sefirot from the 13 types of materials symbolizing peeling off the veil to reveal the secret:
7559 – 3699 = 3860
Astonishingly, 3860 is 10 times the gematria of Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ) which is 386, meaning, each type of materials represents an aspect of Yeshua with 10 emanations.
If we combine the 13 types of building materials with the 13 Sefirot:
7559 + 3699 = 11258
Astonishingly, 11258 = 26 x 433, where 26 is the gematria of YHVH (יְהוָה), and 433 is the gematria of I am God Almighty (אֲנִי אֵל שַׁדַּי).
This comes to teach us that Mashiach is the full revelation (tzimtzum) of God in flesh. Again, the whole contains the part, and the part contains the whole.
The Ark
וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתוֹ זָהָב טָהוֹר, מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ תְּצַפֶּנּוּ; וְעָשִׂיתָ עָלָיו זֵר זָהָב סָבִיב | And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. (Ex 25:11) |
According to Rashi, there are three layers to the ark, and the Shittim Wood is sandwiched between the two gold layers.
Astonishingly, this fits into the Kabbalah model that “pleasure” is sandwiched between “faith” and “will”.
In the same way that the two brains are enveloped by three layers of membranes in human autonomy called the “meninges”, so is the ark constructed with three layers of casings.
Now the word “skin” in the physical realm is the corrupted form of “light’ in the spiritual realm. Let’s now restore the letter Ayin to the letter Alef:
Emunah (faith) | Badger’s skin (light) | אֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים | 1359 |
Ta’anug (pleasure) | Shittim wood | עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים | 529 |
Ratzon (will) | Ram’s skin (light) | אֹרֹת אֵילִם | 682 |
2570 |
Astonishingly, 2570 is 10 times the gematria of Ark (אֲרוֹן), which is 257. 257 is also the gematria of lights אוֹרִים in masculine plural. This comes to teach us that the badger’s skin, shittim wood and ram’s skin are indeed the coarse reflection in the physical realm of the elevated faith, pleasure, and will in the crown of the Sefirot in the spiritual realm.
