Tetzaveh – secret of the garment
Why does man have to wear a garment?
Both Tetzaveh and Purim are about wearing garments.
The concept of garment is the interface between two opposite domains, by which one communicates with the other.
The butterfly metamorphoses from the caterpillar through the cocoon which is the “garment” of interface connecting the two dichotomies of life.
The soul of man is expressed through three garments: thought, speech and action, by which the soul of the spiritual domain connects to the physical world.
Moses had to enter into the “cloud” in order to see God, why cloud? This is the garment by which man of one dimension can meet God of another dimension.
Similarly, angelic being can encounter man in the form of a man, which is the garment connecting the two opposites.
YHVH also wears garment:
יְהוָה מָלָךְ, גֵּאוּת לָבֵשׁ:לָבֵשׁ יְהוָה | The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty (Psalm 93:1) |
YHVH wears garment in order to interface with man. God has no form nor image, hence the garment of YHVH is the form and image by which man can see God. The garment of YHVH is the concept of Mashiach.
As it is written:
No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him. (John 1:18) |
Astonishingly, “ YHVH is clothed” in gematria is 358, exactly the same of Mashiach:
YHVH is clothed |
Mashiach |
The soul of man is part of God, the soul can’t enter into the physical world except when it is clothed in garment, which is the body.
The Soul is Light
Why did Adam and Eve have to wear garments after the sin?
The soul of Adam and Eve is pure light at creation, and their consciousness and self-awareness is light, and in order for the light of the soul to interface with the physical world they needed garment which is their physical body. They were not ashamed because their consciousness is light, and their body is the garment through which they interface with the physical world.
After the sin, the light is diminished and they realized that they were naked, their consciousness and self-awareness degenerated into their physical body. Their nakedness becomes their newly acquired consciousness which requires a garment in order to interface with the physical world.
The very fact their nakedness can’t interface with the physical world without a garment is reminiscent of their souls’ connection with the light, albeit is now diminished.
Man needed garments ever since and man feels shameful without the light.
The gematria of “essence of the soul” is 600, which is the same gematria of “and he clothed light with man”:
Essence of the soul |
And he clothed light with man | וַיַּלְבֵּשׁ אוֹר אָדָם | 600 |
God clothed the light with the physical body of man, for the essence of the soul is light. The soul interfaces with the physical world through the garment of body.
The verse for the first revelation of light has the same gematria as the verse when God said to create man.
And God said: ‘Let there be light.’ And
there was light. (Gen 1:3) |
And God said: Let us make man (Gen 1:26) |
Since the light appears twice in the first verse, it is understood as two lights, being man and woman, for man is the direct light to woman and woman is the reflected light to man.
When the light is spelled out, it is exactly the gematria of male and female, man and woman:
Male and female he created them (Gen 5:2) |
Man and woman |
The two lights and man in gematria is 1891, which is exactly the gematria of the verse when woman was created from man:
Light, light, man | אוֹר אוֹר אָדָם | |
Spelled out | אלף וו ריש אלף וו ריש אלף דלת מם | 1891 |
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made He a woman (Gen 2:22) |
Astonishingly, 1891 is also the gematria of “clothed in light” when spelled out, as follows:
Clothed in light |
“Clothed in light” in gematria is 541, which is exactly the same as Israel, יִשְׂרָאֵל, for Israel is the light to the world.
1891 is the triangle number of 61, where 61 is the gematria of self אֲנִי. The self-consciousness and self-awareness requires a garment for expression, which expression can be the original light, or a physical body.
When the three letters of Ani is spelled out, the gematria is 237, which is exactly the gematria of “let there be the light”:
I (self) |
Let there be the light |
The light is the original light that was lost, and the will of God is for man’s garment to be restored from the physical body to the original light, i.e. the garment of light instead of the garment of skin.
