The Air India Crash
As I understand it, the latest report is that investigators are looking at the possibility that a fire in the plane’s tail might have affected electric power.
Generally when the power stops, a backup generator kicks in.
But when the power cuts off during the beginning of takeoff, it’s very dangerous, because the aircraft needs power to rise quickly. A sudden loss of electricity, leading to fuel cutoff, and leading to loss of engine thrust, can lead to the plane not rising, and crashing into surrounding buildings.
So it’s possible, that a loss of electricity caused the crash.
You can have a very sophisticated apparatus. State of the art. But if power cuts off at a crucial moment, the apparatus can fail.
The world is like that. We live on a sophisticated planet with a carefully balanced ecosystem. Food grows, nourished by the sun, watered by rain, worked by farmers who bring it to suppliers who bring it to people.
People interact with one another in societies with laws.
Nations interact with one another, usually trying to get along peacefully.
Underlying all this is a Supreme Power. The Almighty creates and sustains everything, and conducts everything with Divine providence.
If for one moment, the life-force emanating from G-d would cease G-d forbid, then everything would become nothing, nullified within G-dliness.
So we need G-d’s constant life-force to power the world, and to keep everything existing.
Actually, this can be a very motivating thought.
Because as we look at the world around us, although we see miraculous events happening, we also see uncertainty.
The Middle East is not yet settled. Israel is intervening in Syria (to protect the Druze), monitoring Hezbollah and Iran, fighting Hamas while trying to free the hostages, dealing with Huckabee (who first showed support toward Israel, but is now criticizing Israel for not processing visas quickly for Evangelicals — Israel wants to first be sure that they don’t allow entry for those who missionize), and so on.
Netanyahu is trying to keep his government intact, despite the Charedis walking out.
The High Court said that they will freeze the government’s dismissal of the attorney general, but a government minister declared that the government will then ignore the High Court.
In the U.S., Trump is under pressure to release files that some suspect would implicate him, and also implicate numerous people in high positions.
In the world, Trump’s tariffs are threatening the economies of many countries.
The war in Ukraine drags on.
And so on. There is much uncertainty in the world.
But there is a reason for strong optimism. Because G-d runs everything.
And with all the uncertainty, we have seen wondrous miracles.
So we can trust in Him to enable us to take off safely, fly smoothly, and land nicely.
May we soon see the most marvellous miracle of all, the Redemption with Moshiach, when all will recognize that G-d powers and conducts everything.
And peace, tranquility, and prosperity will permeate.
May it happen very soon.
