The Blind Cat And The Indian Woman

Intuition travels across countries. Some stories are written in the stars.

This is an unbelievable story that feels too incredible to be true—but every word of it is real. When Mini vanished from my apartment, I thought I’d never see her again. She was missing for ten days, and each day felt heavier than the last.

But something happened—something that defies logic and still leaves me in awe. It involved a woman in India who doesn’t speak English, a prediction that seemed impossible, and a homecoming that still gives me goosebumps to this very day.

Mini has always been an adventurous cat. Blindness never stopped her from living. But sadly, curiosity for the world got the best of her and she slipped through the open living room window in the middle of the night. I didn’t notice she was gone until hours later, and when I did, panic set in immediately. How will she survive the streets of Haifa? What if someone steals her? So many questions, but zero answers.

I searched everywhere—every corner, hallway, and street, calling her name over and over. Friends and neighbors joined the search, but Mini was nowhere to be found. Day after day passed, and the fear grew heavier in my heart.

On the seventh day, I was exhausted and desperate. I posted in a local Haifa Facebook group, sharing how Mini ran away and she was blind. That’s when something unexpected happened. A woman in India—who didn’t speak English—read my post and reached out to me. She said she had a gift: she could communicate with animals.

Through the language of compassion, intuition, and her assistant who did speak English, she told me something that seemed impossible: Mini would come back within a few days. I wanted to believe her, but it felt too hopeful. Mini had already been gone for a week. How could she possibly find her way home, especially without sight?

Then came the tenth day. My neighbor called out to me with a trembling voice. Mini was there—in front of the apartment building. Ten days blind in a world of obstacles and strangers, and she had somehow found her way back. She was dirty, tired, and a little thinner, but she was alive and safe. The woman from India had been right.

To this day, I can’t fully explain it. It feels like a miracle. Mini’s return is a story I’ll carry with me forever as a reminder that there are forces at work beyond what we can see.

There are other stories I could share about Mini—other little miracles and moments of wonder—but for now, this one is enough. She found her way home, and that’s all that matters.
