The Democratic Party Certainly is Not ‘Anti-Israel’

There most certainly is not an ‘anti-Israel’ Democratic Party (with, perhaps, a few individual exceptions) but unconditional disgust across most Democrats with Netanyahu due to his continued lack of vision and purely self-serving and politicized denial of any shared future for the Territories.

Netanyahu’s horrifically poor decision to sell out Israel to the White Supremacist in the White House, Donald Trump, and become subservient to Trump’s GOP is at concern…and should well be. Denying entry to elected Congressional representatives regardless of their political biases was irresponsible and thoughtless. Is the Knesset even paying attention to the caretaker PM Netanyahu?

As Trump continues to use and abuse Israel and Jews to push a White Nationalist and personal agenda most recently attacking the Democratic Party and it’s relationship with Israel, consideration of the Congress’ make up has not been done by the media. That is, I encourage Trump and allies to count the number of Jewish GOP members of both Houses of Congress as compared to Jewish Democrats elected to both the House and Senate. Trump is being allowed to create an issue which primarily exists in White Nationalist propaganda networks and take it mainstream.

Giving the juvenile Trump the upper hand by offering even the remotest credibility to his violent racist propaganda and manipulation of not only Congress but Israel and Jews of the American Diaspora is insane. Trump’s move of the embassy and ‘recognition’ of the Golan was only for Trump; for his Christian Zionist sponsors and to provide an electoral push to his compatriot, Netanyahu, who is doing anything to stay out of jail damn the cost to Israel.

Congressional Democrats – and many others like myself – have been repulsed even further by Netanyahu’s decision to further pander to Trump. That Netanyahu is no more ‘Israel’ than Trump is ‘America’ must be actively remembered and incorporated. Reviling Netanyahu or Trump is being IN support of each respective nation.

I strongly support and have lived in Israel as an Olim. I also strongly support US aid to Israel. But Israel – must – show attention and honest thought to both it’s own broader nation and the Territories. Israel must identify a viable, coherent, mutual and defendable vision for its own and the Territories future.

The status quo will not and cannot last much longer.
