The Good Brand Guide: Galia Lahav

As a bride endlessly scrolling Pinterest for the perfect venue, dream florals, and the dress, it’s rare for something to truly take my breath away. Galia Lahav did just that. From their exquisite lace gowns and chic mini dresses to their unwavering support for the Israeli and Jewish community, this is a company I am proud to spotlight. Though their gowns are outside my price range, I couldn’t help but highlight this remarkable brand in the hopes that another bride might walk down the aisle not only in a stunning dress but one created by a company that aligns with her values.

Galia Lahav, the founder and namesake, was born in Belarus and emigrated to Israel in 1957. She grew up learning to sew from her mother, and at the age of 36, bravely began her fashion career. Today, her success story is nothing short of inspirational, her gowns have even been worn by international icons like Beyoncé, Priyanka Chopra, and Simone Biles.

At the heart of her company are family values, Zionism, and Jewish pride. Following the October 7th massacre, Galia Lahav shared her family story and then sent out this message:

“Terrorist organizations have begun to establish themselves on our northern border and in Gaza, organizations such as Hezbollah, the Islamic Jihad, and Hamas. They are no different from ISIS; They aim to destroy everything we have built. You promised that the Holocaust would not be repeated, so please SUPPORT ISRAEL.”

While many brands shared statements once or twice, Galia Lahav has continued to speak out, advocating for the women and men still held hostage in Gaza. Their unwavering and vocal support shines through the darkness, especially when much of the world has remained silent to our suffering. Despite facing threats of boycott, they stand tall and lead with their values.

With such a powerful story woven into their brand, it’s no surprise that their gowns reflect the same depth of beauty, strength, and grace. From intricate lace to delicate tulle and innovative structure, their dresses capture the fantasy and confidence every bride dreams of on her wedding day.

While I may never be able to wear one of her breathtaking gowns, I am proud to support and celebrate a company like hers.
