For so long, the media in the US slander Israel. The American People stand behind the Jewish State, nevertheless. One could suggest that it’s the Evangelicals but, secularization doesn’t make this disappear. You can only so much fool the people. One may mislead a vast majority of intellectuals (to be) like university workers (and students) and parliamentarians, but not regular Americans, who are as proud of Israel as of their own country.
Equally driven by baseless hatred and jealousy, the continuous Israeli media attacks on Netanyahu do not erode the trust Israelis have in their record-breaking leader. Yes, there are the Looney Left, the political leaders who lost from him, and the fanatics on the Right who can’t get enough of slandering him, but to no avail. The Goebbelian constant rehearsing of the same (even legal) charges fail to produce mistrust in the happy majority.
The editor in chief not from self-declared anti-Zionist Haaretz but from a most respected Times of Israel, even wrote that Israelis are now ordered to pay the PM’s legal bills. This inflammatory drivel is only revealing of the one typing the keyboard. Are we ‘ordered’ to pay street cleaners? No, they are paid from our taxes. But Bibi’s lawyers are not going to be paid by us. He can only tax-deduct these expenses. And this, while there’s staggering unemployment during a pandemic, the opinion maker accuses. Well, he’s brought to court during great political and medical upheaval. It’s OK to put him in the dock in such times but not for him to deduct for legal counsel?
Slander could kill, Heaven forbid, as the case of Yitzchak Rabin shows. But Israel’s official opposition leader, the greatest hateful liar the Jewish State ever produced, has the audacity to accuse Bibi of spreading slander.
You can mislead some of the people all the time and you can mislead all of the people some of the time, but you cannot mislead all of the People all of the time. The US’ We the People and the Israeli People just aren’t naive.
