The Laundry Cycle- The Important Role of Detergent and Sanitizers
Sometimes the whole world is wrong.
In his April 16th 2026 Blog, Dr. Philip Berger contrasted the illusion of genocide with the reality of Canadian antisemitism. He described the laundering of this false accusation, often with malicious intent, by UN leaders like Francesca Albanese who herself has been accused of antisemitism. He also referred to seemingly esteemed organizations, like the International Association of Genocide Scholars – which allows non-academics to join- and makes sweeping resolutions which can be passed by <30% of their members, as long as they paid $125 and showed up for the vote.
There was a notable reply to Dr. Berger’s article from a handle labeled @benthomsonlovesnephrons who posted the following mocking comment:
“ it’s genocide (@amnesty)
it’s genocide (@hrw)
it’s genocide (@btselem)
it’s genocide (@MSF)
it’s genocide (IAGS)

it’s genocide (@unitedforrights)
it’s genocide (@JURDIasso)
it’s genocide (@TheElders)
it’s genocide (@Oxfam)
Calling a genocide a genocide hurts my feelings (Phil Berger)”
By virtue of the venerable titles in the list of NGOs, and in the absence of any other facts or discussion, @benthomsonlovesnephrons attempts to drive a stake in the heart of Dr. Berger’s concerns.
But the polished and seemingly impervious surface of this counter argument conceals the thin ice that Western societies have chosen to skate on when addressing issues related to human rights, international law and morality.
The following is a similar list of historical leaders and institutions who like the NGOS, were revered during their times:
@Hadrian (Roman emperor, destruction of Judaea , renaming it: Syria Palestinia-135)
@ Pope Urban II (started the first Crusade against Jews and Muslims in 1095)
@ King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella (Royal Decrees for Spanish Inquisition -1492)
@ Martin Luther (Church founder and author of On the Jews and Their Lies -1543)
@ Karl Marx (Philosopher &(Political Theorist and author – On the Jewish Question -1843)
@ Richard Wagner (Opera and music dramatist wrote –Jewishness in Music – 1850)
@Cecil Rhodes (Imperialist, PM of Cape Colony & founder of Rhodes Scholarship -1890)
@ Henry Ford (Founder of Ford Motor Co.-publisher of The International Jew -1920)
@ Leni Riefenstahl (Renowned filmmaker for the Third Reich – Triumph of the Will-1935)
@ Walter Duranty (Pulitzer Prize Journalist NYT – denier of the Holodomor 1933)
@ Konrad Lorenz (Nobel Prize Medicine 1973 – member and writer for the Nazi Party)
@ James Watson (Nobel Prize Medicine for co-discovery DNA 1962 –racist and sexist)
@ Mao Zedong (Founder of P.R. of China and leader of the Cultural Revolution – 1966)
@ Roald Dahl (Award winning children’s author and self-described antisemite -1983)
@ Jose Saramago (Nobel Prize Literature 1998- accused of classical antisemitism)
@ United Nations (granted a UN seat to the Khmer Rouge, perpetrators of genocide -1979)
@ Muslim Brotherhood (Antiwesternism, Antisemitism and Homophobia – 1928-present)
Arguably all these social leaders, organizations, scientists, writers and artists made laudable contributions to their societies and the world in their areas of power, expertise and endeavor. However, like most humans and social organizations, they also suffered from blind spots and prejudice. Today, each would be recognized for both their social contributions, but can also be remembered for their lapses into imperialism, racism, misogyny, homophobia and antisemitism.
Co-opting and quoting seemingly respected organizations and leaders to back a position has also been a standard way to launder misinformation and manipulate behavior. We need to look no further than drug companies that have used highly esteemed medical experts and researchers to sell their products, sometimes with devastating and lasting consequences. Consider the opiate crisis which hollowed out entire communities and ruined so many promising lives. World experts presented truncated and overinterpreted research about the value of opiates for treatment of chronic pain. Skeptics were silenced or ostracized as being ignorant of the facts, cold-hearted, incompetent and even immoral if they didn’t prescribe narcotics to alleviate their patients’ suffering. Busy physicians were told to trust the experts to avoid the difficult and time-consuming task of reading and scrutinizing the research.
Like the drug companies’ paid experts, @benthomsonlovesnephrons and similar influencers from the Left and Right fall back on this same fallacy of unassailable expertise to launder and sanitize delegitimizing and dehumanizing hatred against what they perceive to be their ideological, economic, political or religious opponents or competitors. In this case, they attack the State of Israel and its supporters whom are mockingly described as misguided at best, and conspiratorially complicit in the gravest moral crimes against humanity (genocide) at worst. They advise us to take note of their laundry list of esteemed organizations and to listen to their academic experts because the whole world cannot possibly be wrong”. Like the medical professors, their implicit message is that you do not need to waste mental energy and time reading anything except their short curated output and list of “facts.”
The spread of delegitimizing and demonizing slogans by respected leaders and institutions are the detergent and sanitizer in the laundry cycle that facilitates widespread and rapid dissemination of libels and group-hatred. This laundry cycle includes the following steps, some of which were deftly used by @benthomsonlovesnephrons:
- Use simple demonizing slogans like Gaza=genocide (Einat Wilf’s Placard Strategy).
- Link it with an emotional overlay (e.g. a picture of a child victim of war on a news reel).
- Make it a moral imperative to fight the nefarious cabal that threatens the world.
- Launder the demonizing libels through trusted institutions, leaders and celebrities.
- Rinse & continue to repeat the Big Lie until it becomes cognitively normalized.
LG ™ would like us to believe that if we use their laundry appliances, “Life’s Good”. The modern laundromats of hate advocate using their machines, detergent and sanitizers. They understand that while Life may be Good, Lies “R” Great.
